Week Six Thoughts.

Written Friday October 1st at 10:45 PM

Berkley: The Bears picked up a huge homecoming 34-19 win over Avondale on Friday night. The road gets tougher for Berkley as they travel to Livonia Clarenceville next week.

Ferndale: It was a rough night for the Eagles on Friday night falling 47-6 to Walled Lake Western. Ferndale has Bloomfield Hills next week.

Farmington: This pretty much describes the Falcons win over Royal Oak 33-6 on Friday night. Farmington plays Pontiac next week. It is also the first win for Jason Albrecht as coach at Farmington.

Troy Athens: It was a rough homecoming for the Red Hawks on Friday night falling 31-14 to Bloomfield Hills. Troy Athens is going to be fine, I have a ton of confidence in Coach Billy Keenest and his staff. They have Troy next week.

Troy: The Colts did not play on Friday night because of their cancelled game with Pontiac. They have Bloomfield Hills next week.

Avondale: The Yellow Jackets fell at Hurley Field 34-19 on Friday night. Avondale will have a chance to bounce back when they play Royal Oak next week.

Bloomfield Hills: The Blackhawks are in the driver’s seat in the Blue after winning 31-14 at Troy Athens on Friday night. I’m still not convinced with this team and I really did not like that they put their flag on Troy Athens home field which is why I ranked them low this week. They have Ferndale looming next week.

Pontiac: This is the second straight week that the Phoenix will not be able to play because of COVID-19 protocols surrounding the program. Pontiac will open up their brand new stadium next week when they host Farmington.

Royal Oak: It was a rough night for the Ravens on Friday night falling 33-6 to Farmington. Royal Oak has Avondale next week.

Adams: The Highlanders kept their unbeaten season intact with a 28-21 overtime win at Ron Holland Field over North Farmington on Friday night. Adams has Groves next week.

North Farmington: It was a tough one for the Raiders on Friday night falling at Ron Holland Field 28-21 to Adams on Friday night. North Farmington has not been the same team since the Oak Park game. They need to find that magic from earlier in the season. They have Seaholm next week.

Groves: It was a tough loss for the Falcons on Friday night to Rochester 32-22. It’s been a struggle for Groves all season long. They have Adams next week.

Oak Park: The Knights picked up a huge 20-6 win over Seaholm on Friday night. They have a huge game with Rochester next week.

Rochester: There is no team hotter than Rochester after their 32-22 win over Groves in Beverly Hills on Friday night. The Falcons have a big one with Oak Park next week.

Seaholm: It has been a challenging season for the Maples which saw them fall to Oak Park 20-6 on Friday night. Seaholm has North Farmington next week.

West Bloomfield: The Lakers picked up a huge win over Clarkston in the Swamp on Friday night winning 34-27. Dillon Tatum and Requan Nance were huge in the win over the Wolves. West Bloomfield has Southfield Arts and Tech next week.

Clarkston: It was a tough loss for the Wolves on Friday night in the Swamp as they fell 34-27 to West Bloomfield. Clarkston has Lake Orion at home next week.

Lake Orion: The Dragons played with nothing to lose on Friday night and it showed with a 24-7 win over Stoney Creek. Lake Orion has to win out to have a chance and they have a big one with Clarkston next week.

Southfield Arts and Tech: The Warriors had a spirted comeback on Friday night but it wasn’t enough as they lost 49-42 to Oxford. Southfield Arts and Tech has a tough game when West Bloomfield comes to town next week.

Oxford: The Wildcats are rolling right now. Oxford earned their second win of the season by beating Southfield Arts and Tech 49-42 on Friday night. The Wildcats have another tough game with Stoney Creek next week.

Stoney Creek: The Cougars had a rough night on Friday night at Lake Orion falling 24-7. Stoney Creek was due for a letdown after an emotional 21-14 win over Southfield Arts and Tech last week. The Cougars have Oxford next week.

Harper Woods: The Pioneers had a week off after Hamtramck cancelled their game last week. Harper Woods has a huge game with Allen Park next week.

I have highest function of autism (Asperger Syndrome.) I'm a huge Dallas Stars fan. I like to play and watch football, especially when the Dragons play on Friday nights. I am a 2006 alum and used to play football for the Dragons. I ran track, I ran the 100, 200, 400 meter dashes along with shot-put and discus. During my time in Orion I was a manager for Junior Varsity Boys Basketball team. I'm the volleyball, girls basketball, and football announcer for the team and do the book on the road for girls basketball. I do the clock for volleyball in the fall along with girls basketball in the winter and announce some boys basketball games as well. In the spring I coach shot-put at Scripps Middle School, in my fifth season coaching. I run the shot-put for high school meets. I played Special Olympics Basketball, I've won three gold medals for them. I host "Between Taorminas" which is on ONTV along with a podcast called "OAA Now". In other various things outside of Lake Orion, I love to jet ski over Saginaw Bay. Saginaw Bay is basically my life. I'm a trained weather spotter for the National Weather Service for Oakland and Huron counties.
