Week Seven Thoughts.

Written Friday October 8th at 10:45 PM

Berkley: The Bears picked up an emotional 36-33 road win at Livonia Clarenceville on Friday night. Berkley was battle tested in this game and has proven they can win in a hostile environment come postseason time. Coach Sean Shields’s team has a huge game looming next week with Troy.

Ferndale: It was another tough week for Coach Eric Royal’s team on Friday night. Ferndale fell 37-6 to Bloomfield Hills. It has been a really challenging season for the Eagles. Ferndale has Pontiac looming next week.

Farmington: The Falcons have won two straight games including a 50-8 win over Pontiac on Friday night. Farmington is turning the corner a bit which is a great sign for Coach Jason Albrecht and his program. They have Avondale looming next week.

Troy Athens: The Red Hawks suffered a tough 21-20 loss to Troy on Friday night. Troy Athens could be in some trouble a little bit. They have an open date but hopefully an opponent will play them next week.

Troy: The Colts had to overcome a ton of rust from not playing last week. They picked up a huge 21-20 win at Troy Athens on Friday night. It was the first time in three years that Troy scored a point against their arch rivals from John R Road. The Colts stay undefeated but will be tested when they head to Hurley Field to play Berkley next week.

Avondale: The Yellow Jackets picked up a huge 35-21 win at Royal Oak on Friday night. It looks like that Jake Herzog is back for Avondale. He makes a huge difference for Coach Corey Bell’s team. Avondale has Farmington looming next week.

Bloomfield Hills: The Blackhawks had no problem with Ferndale on their homecoming night winning 37-6. Bloomfield Hills has Royal Oak looming next week.

Pontiac: It was a great night for the community of Pontiac on Friday night to celebrate their new field and stadium for their homecoming. The game though wasn’t close as Farmington won 50-8. The Phoenix heads to Ferndale next week.

Royal Oak: The Ravens took a very tough 35-21 loss to Avondale on Friday night. Royal Oak has a tough test looming next week with Bloomfield Hills.

Adams: The Highlanders had no problem with Groves on Friday night winning 24-7. Adams is rolling right now. They have Stoney Creek on the road next week.

North Farmington: The Raiders playoff hopes are in deep jeopardy after being upset 41-34 by Seaholm on Friday night. North Farmington has lost four straight games since leading 17-0 at Oak Park. The Raiders have a tough one looming with West Bloomfield next week in the Swamp.

Groves: The Falcons are having a tough season after falling 24-7 to Adams on Friday night. It doesn’t get any easier for Groves when they head to Clarkston to play the Wolves next week.

Oak Park: It was a very competitive game on Friday night for the Knights but they had a tough loss 23-22 to Rochester on Friday night. Oak Park has a tough final two games starting with Southfield Arts and Tech next week.

Rochester: The Falcons are getting hot at the right time and made a program win by beating Oak Park 23-22 on Friday night. Rochester is rolling and gaining confidence. They will be tested when they head to Oxford next week.

Seaholm: The Maples pulled off the upset of the night by stunning North Farmington 41-34 in the Maple Forest on Friday night. I credit Coach Jim DeWald and his kids for pulling this one off. Seaholm has to be riding on cloud nine right now. They have Lake Orion next week on the road.

West Bloomfield: The Lakers are starting to get a ton of confidence back but the defense remains a concern despite winning 56-27 over Southfield Arts and Tech on Friday night. West Bloomfield has North Farmington looming in the Swamp next week.

Clarkston: The Wolves bounced back in a big way by beating Lake Orion 50-22 on Friday night. Ethan Clark and Mike DePillo had big nights. Clarkston has Groves looming next week.

Lake Orion: I have no words to explain with what has happened with the Dragons. You cannot allow 50 points to your two arch rivals which Lake Orion has. They fell 50-22 on Friday night to Clarkston. Lake Orion has Seaholm looming next week.

Southfield Arts and Tech: The Warriors gave up 56 points in a stunning 56-27 home loss to West Bloomfield on Friday night. Southfield Arts and Tech is in some trouble. They have two tough games looming starting with Oak Park next week.

Oxford: The Wildcats are red hot right now. Oxford beat Stoney Creek 27-26 in overtime. They got to keep winning and treat every one of them like a playoff game. The Wildcats have a big one with Rochester next week.

Stoney Creek: The Cougars picked up a tough 27-26 overtime loss to Oxford on Friday night. Stoney Creek will be fine. They have a tough test looming with Adams next week.

Harper Woods: The Pioneers picked up a huge 32-21 win over Allen Park on Friday night. Harper Woods is rolling at the right time. They have a really tough one looming with Warren DeLaSalle looming next week.

I have highest function of autism (Asperger Syndrome.) I'm a huge Dallas Stars fan. I like to play and watch football, especially when the Dragons play on Friday nights. I am a 2006 alum and used to play football for the Dragons. I ran track, I ran the 100, 200, 400 meter dashes along with shot-put and discus. During my time in Orion I was a manager for Junior Varsity Boys Basketball team. I'm the volleyball, girls basketball, and football announcer for the team and do the book on the road for girls basketball. I do the clock for volleyball in the fall along with girls basketball in the winter and announce some boys basketball games as well. In the spring I coach shot-put at Scripps Middle School, in my fifth season coaching. I run the shot-put for high school meets. I played Special Olympics Basketball, I've won three gold medals for them. I host "Between Taorminas" which is on ONTV along with a podcast called "OAA Now". In other various things outside of Lake Orion, I love to jet ski over Saginaw Bay. Saginaw Bay is basically my life. I'm a trained weather spotter for the National Weather Service for Oakland and Huron counties.
