Girls Swimming Results Around the OAA.

The first State Champion of 2021 has been declared in the OAA.

Seaholm earned the Division Two State Championship in Girls Swimming and Diving at Grand Rapids Northview on Saturday afternoon with a 309 score. The Maples edged out Rochester Adams whom took second with a 263. Farmington took fourth at 137. Groves took sixth with 130. Stoney Creek was 17th with a 48.5, Royal Oak was 20th with 23, North Farmington was 21st with 20. Berkley was 32nd with six points.

Seaholm won the 400 freestyle relay, Adams was second, Farmington was sixth, and Groves rounded out the top ten in that event. The Maples also won the 200 freestyle relay while Adams took fifth and Groves rounded out the top ten in sixth place.

Adams took the 200 medley relay but Seaholm was right behind in second and Farmington took sixth to round up the top ten.

The Division One State Final took place at Hudsonville on Saturday afternoon. There was no OAA school that placed in the top 15. Bloomfield Hills finished 17th with 28 points, while Troy took 21st with 21 points, Oxford took 23rd with 20 points, Lake Orion took 24th with 18 points, West Bloomfield took 26th with 16 points, and Clarkston took 29th with eight points.

It was a great season for the swimmers. It should be interesting next fall.

I have highest function of autism (Asperger Syndrome.) I'm a huge Dallas Stars fan. I like to play and watch football, especially when the Dragons play on Friday nights. I am a 2006 alum and used to play football for the Dragons. I ran track, I ran the 100, 200, 400 meter dashes along with shot-put and discus. During my time in Orion I was a manager for Junior Varsity Boys Basketball team. I'm the volleyball, girls basketball, and football announcer for the team and do the book on the road for girls basketball. I do the clock for volleyball in the fall along with girls basketball in the winter and announce some boys basketball games as well. In the spring I coach shot-put at Scripps Middle School, in my fifth season coaching. I run the shot-put for high school meets. I played Special Olympics Basketball, I've won three gold medals for them. I host "Between Taorminas" which is on ONTV along with a podcast called "OAA Now". In other various things outside of Lake Orion, I love to jet ski over Saginaw Bay. Saginaw Bay is basically my life. I'm a trained weather spotter for the National Weather Service for Oakland and Huron counties.
