OAA Recap: Week Four.

Written Friday September 18th at 11:15 PM.

INSIDE THE OAA TOP 10:

1. West Bloomfield

2.  Southfield

3.  Harrison

4. Farmington

5. Groves

6. Adams

7. Clarkston

8. Troy Athens

9. Orion

10. Berkley

BIG WIN: Farmington: The Falcons had to overcome a lot in the last 90 seconds and was up 12-7. They saw a Kyle Wood one yard touchdown and two point conversion that gave Adams a 15-12 lead with 1:19 left. Farmington would then go down the field and score a touchdown with 22 seconds remaining to give themselves a 19-15 lead. The Highlanders went down the field to the Falcons 16 yard line but they threw an incomplete pass to close out the game. Adams had their chances and couldn’t convert. This is a huge win for Farmington as they went into Rochester and beat a very good Highlanders. For Adams this is a bad loss which could hurt them in the long hall.

TOUGH LOSS: Avondale: The Yellow Jackets were down 28-7 to Lathrup at one point, only to storm back to and miss a two point conversion to tie the score. Avondale had a chance to win the game but the Chargers held them and won 28-26. Lathrup has been very inconsistent but pulled off a huge win over the Yellow Jackets. Avondale must get back to the drawing board next week.

TEAM THAT NEEDS A HUG: Adams: Somebody had to lose and it was the Highlanders at home 19-15 to Farmington. Adams was only held to 25 rushing yards in the first half, which is not good especially for a team that runs the veer offense to perfection. This is a horrible loss for Tony Patrino and his team as they still have Oak Park and Harrison still on the schedule. Adams must get back to the drawing board and fix this if they want to be a playoff team.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? Groves: The Falcons despite their undefeated record really haven’t played anybody impressive. They destroyed Pontiac 49-0 and now they get Hazel Park next. The schedule will really toughen up for Groves as they have Berkley and Avondale on the schedule and will conclude the season with Waterford Kettering whom beat Walled Lake Central. This should be an interesting few weeks for the Falcons in a few weeks.
