Written Wednesday September 9th at 11:40 AM

Records:

Keith 25-7
Dan 20-12
Ant 20-12
Sammy 20-12
Sean 18-14

6. Clarkston at 1. West Bloomfield:

This game will be one of the biggest games in Lakers history and it will see if West Bloomfield truly belongs with the big boys in the Red. Last season was 55-41 in favor of Clarkston, hadn’t been for an Eddy Wilson ejection, the Lakers would had pulled off the upset. The Wolves didn’t look good against Bloomfield Hills despite winning by two scores (24-10.) They trailed 3-0 at half in that game. This game might not look good for Clarkston in the Swamp.

SAMMY PICK: WEST BLOOMFIELD 49, CLARKSTON 14.
ANT PICK: WEST BLOOMFIELD 35, CLARKSTON 21.
KEITH PICK: WEST BLOOMFIELD 42, CLARKSTON 20.
DAN PICK: WEST BLOOMFIELD 21, CLARKSTON 14.
SEAN PICK: WEST BLOOMFIELD 42, CLARKSTON 21.

7. Troy Athens at 10. Oxford:

The Red Hawks shocked Oakland County, the State, and the league with their 21-14 upset of Orion last week. Troy Athens defense sacked Caiden Priescorn seven times and made Orion’s offensive line look like a bunch of lost puppies. The Wildcats found a running game and won a tough game with Stoney Creek last week. Whoever wins this game is in good shape while the other could be in trouble.

SAMMY PICK: TROY ATHENS 21, OXFORD 14.
ANT PICK: OXFORD 28, TROY ATHENS 24.
KEITH PICK: OXFORD 17, TROY ATHENS 14.
DAN PICK: TROY ATHENS 14, OXFORD 7.
SEAN PICK: TROY ATHENS 28, OXFORD 21.

Bloomfield Hills at Stoney Creek:

The Cougars have lost their last two games to Adams (28-21) and Oxford (21-19) by a combined nine points. Stoney Creek will host the Blackhawks, a team that has scored 10 points in two games this season. Bloomfield Hills allowed 24 points, a far cry from the 57 points they let up against Walled Lake Northern. This is a big game for both teams as one team tries to right the ship on its season.

SAMMY PICK: STONEY CREEK 35, BLOOMFIELD HILLS 14.
ANT PICK: STONEY CREEK 35, BLOOMFIELD HILLS 7.
KEITH PICK: STONEY CREEK 35, BLOOMFIELD HILLS 17.
DAN PICK: STONEY CREEK 20, BLOOMFIELD HILLS 7.
SEAN PICK: STONEY CREEK 28, BLOOMFIELD HILLS 7.

Orion at Troy:

The Dragons have hit rock bottom with their 21-14 upset loss to Troy Athens and is 0-2 for the first time since 1991. The defense looked awful and the offensive line looked like a bunch of lost puppies against Troy Athens. The Colts have had trouble scoring on teams but Orion has had trouble stopping people. It’s not about playoffs anymore for the Dragons, it’s about bringing Orion back to where they should be.

SAMMY PICK: ORION 28, TROY 3.
ANT PICK: ORION 21, TROY 7.
KEITH PICK: ORION 31, TROY 10.
DAN PICK: ORION 28, TROY 14.
SEAN PICK: ORION 35, TROY 10.

2. Southfield at 8. Farmington:

The Blue Jays were expected to be ranked high to start the season despite losing to Detroit Cass Tech but nobody expected Farmington to be here. The Falcons are 2-0 after getting a big 20-19 win over Oak Park last week. Southfield is riding high after beating Adams but now they get a huge test against the Falcons. On paper this appears to be a mismatch in the favor of Southfield but anything is possible in High School football and Farmington will try to pull off another upset.

SAMMY PICK: SOUTHFIELD 28, FARMINGTON 14.
ANT PICK: SOUTHFIELD 35, FARMINGTON 21.
KEITH PICK: SOUTHFIELD 21, FARMINGTON 16.
DAN PICK: SOUTHFIELD 28, FARMINGTON 21.
SEAN PICK: FARMINGTON 19, SOUTHFIELD 17.

3. Harrison at Oak Park:

The Knights sit 0-2 after losing both of their games to Zeeland West (42-34) and Farmington (20-19) by a combined of nine points. They will be desperate against a good 1-1 Harrison team. The Hawks made short work of Rochester but the loss to East Kentwood still bothers them as they allowed a touchdown late in that game. This will be a big game for both teams but especially Oak Park as they try to get in the win column for the first time this season.

SAMMY PICK: OAK PARK 25, HARRISON 21.
ANT PICK:  HARRISON 24, OAK PARK 21.
KEITH PICK: HARRISON 27, OAK PARK 20.
DAN PICK: HARRISON 21, OAK PARK 20.
SEAN PICK: OAK PARK 26, HARRISON 21.

5. Adams at Seaholm:

The Highlanders are furious after losing to Southfield 30-17 last week and there is no love lost between those two programs. Now Adams will travel to the Maple Forest to take on Seaholm. The Maples beat North Farmington 40-21 and looks to get a huge win at home against a very good opponent.

SAMMY PICK: ADAMS 42, SEAHOLM 14.
ANT PICK: ADAMS 28, SEAHOLM 14.
KEITH PICK: ADAMS 28, SEAHOLM 13.
DAN PICK: ADAMS 35, SEAHOLM 14.
SEAN PICK: ADAMS 35, SEAHOLM 7.

Rochester at North Farmington:

The Raiders looked good against Pontiac in week one but gave up 40 points in a loss to Seaholm last week will try to get back to their winning ways against a struggling Rochester team that is 2-13 in their last 15 games. The Falcons are decimated to injuries suffered another blowout loss to Harrison. This won’t be an easy game for Rochester at all. It could be a long night on 14 Mile and Farmington Road.

SAMMY PICK: NORTH FARMINGTON 35, ROCHESTER 7.
ANT PICK: NORTH FARMINGTON 28, ROCHESTER 7.
KEITH PICK: NORTH FARMINGTON 24, ROCHESTER 14.
DAN PICK:  ROCHESTER 17, NORTH FARMINGTON 14.
SEAN PICK: NORTH FARMINGTON 21, ROCHESTER 14.

Lathrup at 4. Groves:

The Falcons have been riding with their running attack of Iowa bound Cedric Boswell and Ernest Allen lately. Groves has two good wins early in the season over Seaholm (24-8) and Ferndale (29-0.) The Chargers I thought would be for real after winning at Detroit University Prep 21-6 but a disappointing 20-7 loss to Royal Oak isn’t a good sign for their playoff hopes. If Lathrup wants to make the playoffs they must not lose any more games.

SAMMY PICK: GROVES 28, LATHRUP 7.
ANT PICK: GROVES 42, LATHRUP 14.
KEITH PICK: GROVES 35, LATHRUP 14.
DAN PICK:  GROVES 28, LATHRUP 0.
SEAN PICK: GROVES 35, LATHRUP 7.

Royal Oak at 9. Avondale:

The Ravens snapped an 11 game losing streak with the 21-7 upset win at Lathrup last week. Now Royal Oak travels to Auburn Hills to meet the Yellow Jackets. Avondale won 42-8 over Hazel Park last week. If the Ravens can win this game, then they make a huge statement in Ray McMann’s first season.

SAMMY PICK: AVONDALE 28, ROYAL OAK 21.
ANT PICK: AVONDALE 27, ROYAL OAK 24.
KEITH PICK: AVONDALE 24, ROYAL OAK 21.
DAN PICK: AVONDALE 21, ROYAL OAK 14.
SEAN PICK: AVONDALE 18, ROYAL OAK 14.

Berkley at Ferndale:

The Bears got back on track by beating Pontiac 26-0 after losing to Holly two weeks ago at Hurley Field. The Eagles were disappointing as they lost to Groves 29-0. This is an interesting matchup as both teams need this win but especially Ferndale because they are 0-2 right now and is in danger of extending its playoff drought.

SAMMY PICK: BERKLEY 20, FERNDALE 14.
ANT PICK: BERKLEY 28, FERNDALE 14.
KEITH PICK: BERKLEY 30, FERNDALE 23.
DAN PICK: BERKLEY 21, FERNDALE 14.
SEAN PICK: BERKLEY 21, FERNDALE 13.

Pontiac at Hazel Park:

This is a big game for both programs as they try to find an identity. The Phoenix have not scored a point at all this season. The Vikings have only scored 20 points this season. This is a matchup of two bad teams here. This could be a good game here.

SAMMY PICK: HAZEL PARK 12, PONTIAC 8.
ANT PICK: HAZEL PARK 21, PONTIAC 0
KEITH PICK: PONTIAC 22, HAZEL PARK 18.
DAN PICK: HAZEL PARK 21, PONTIAC 14.
SEAN PICK: HAZEL PARK 12, PONTIAC 0.
