It looks like Jamie Thomas will be coming back to the OAA and it will be in Knight Valley.
The Knights hired Thomas to coach their boys basketball team and will succeed coach Bryan Tipton and should make life easier for Football coach and Athletic Director Greg Carter.
Thomas was an assistant at West Bloomfield for their girls basketball, boys basketball, and was a co head coach for their football program when the Lakers made the playoffs in 2008 so he knows the OAA quite well.
He stepped away from coaching in 2009 but returned to coach the Walled Lake Central girls basketball team in 2013.
Thomas will bring stability to a program that is still recovering from the events that cost Bryan Tipton his job. Oak Park won a district title but lost their final two games of the regular season to Orion and Pontiac. The Knights fell to North Farmington in the regional finals at Southfield last season.
Oak Park will see West Bloomfield in their division this season in the White. They will also compete with Avondale, Troy, Pontiac, and Bloomfield Hills as well.
We'll see what happens.
Covering all 23 OAA teams with insight and thoughts on each school from Northern Oakland County, Southern Oakland County, and one from Wayne County.

About Me
- Saginaw Bay
- I have highest function of autism (Asperger Syndrome.) I'm a huge Dallas Stars fan. I like to play and watch football, especially when the Dragons play on Friday nights. I am a 2006 alum and used to play football for the Dragons. I ran track, I ran the 100, 200, 400 meter dashes along with shot-put and discus. During my time in Orion I was a manager for Junior Varsity Boys Basketball team. I'm the volleyball, girls basketball, and football announcer for the team and do the book on the road for girls basketball. I do the clock for volleyball in the fall along with girls basketball in the winter and announce some boys basketball games as well. In the spring I coach shot-put at Scripps Middle School, in my fifth season coaching. I run the shot-put for high school meets. I played Special Olympics Basketball, I've won three gold medals for them. I host "Between Taorminas" which is on ONTV along with a podcast called "OAA Now". In other various things outside of Lake Orion, I love to jet ski over Saginaw Bay. Saginaw Bay is basically my life. I'm a trained weather spotter for the National Weather Service for Oakland and Huron counties.
