BIG WIN: Rochester: The Falcons won their first league title in a long time. They are 6-0 for the first time since 1993 with a 33-7 victory over Berkley on Friday night at Hurley Field. I thought the Bears would be more competitive but Rochester is in a different stratosphere. The Falcons will head into the playoffs and play arch rival Adams in the first round of the postseason. 1996 was the last time they beat the Highlanders. Berkley will host arch rival Royal Oak next week.

TOUGH LOSS: Royal Oak: I have to give the Ravens props for hanging in there and competing with Fraser but it was the Ramblers that won 34-24 on Friday night in Royal Oak. The Ravens have had a very tough season. They will have a very interesting game looming as they will head to Hurley Field to play Berkley in the first round of the postseason. I wonder if “The Curb” will be on the line in that game???

WHAT HAPPENED? Lake Orion: One really bad call changed the complexion of the Dragons game on Friday night which resulted in a 28-0 loss in the Swamp on Friday night. A questionable roughing the snapper call was the reason that West Bloomfield would score 21 straight in the fourth quarter. Lake Orion has some serious problems offensively. The Lakers have shut out their last three opponents and will look to make it a fourth when they will host Utica Ford while the Dragons will head to Grand Blanc next week for the postseason.

TEAM THAT MADE A STATEMENT: Avondale: The Yellow Jackets are starting to break out a little bit. They sent a huge statement by going into Bloomfield Hills and blew out the Blackhawks 37-9 on Friday night. Avondale has a first round showdown next week against Groves in Auburn Hills while Bloomfield Hills will host Troy in the postseason. The Yellow Jackets are peaking at the right time.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Oxford: The Wildcats are really struggling after losing 21-0 to Southfield Arts and Tech at Wildcat Field on Friday night. Oxford has only scored three points in three weeks. The Wildcats will head back to Clarkston for a first round postseason matchup while the Warriors bounced back after losing 36-7 to Stoney Creek two weeks ago. Southfield Arts and Tech earned themselves a home game next week when Troy Athens comes to Southfield for a first round postseason matchup.

About Me

My photo
I have highest function of autism (Asperger Syndrome.) I'm a huge Dallas Stars fan. I like to play and watch football, especially when the Dragons play on Friday nights. I am a 2006 alum and used to play football for the Dragons. I ran track, I ran the 100, 200, 400 meter dashes along with shot-put and discus. During my time in Orion I was a manager for Junior Varsity Boys Basketball team. I'm the volleyball, girls basketball, and football announcer for the team and do the book on the road for girls basketball. I do the clock for volleyball in the fall along with girls basketball in the winter and announce some boys basketball games as well. In the spring I coach shot-put at Scripps Middle School, in my fifth season coaching. I run the shot-put for high school meets. I played Special Olympics Basketball, I've won three gold medals for them. I host "Between Taorminas" which is on ONTV along with a podcast called "OAA Now". In other various things outside of Lake Orion, I love to jet ski over Saginaw Bay. Saginaw Bay is basically my life. I'm a trained weather spotter for the National Weather Service for Oakland and Huron counties.
