Week Seven Thoughts.

Written Saturday October 31st at 12:30 AM

Oak Park sent a statement to the State that despite the winless season they are very dangerous and they proved that against Grosse Pointe South stunning the Blue Devils 35-27 on Friday night. James Burnley had two passing touchdowns and they scored on fake punt off a bad hand off. The Knights will head to Detroit University-Detroit Jesuit for a showdown with the Cubs next week.

North Farmington had no problem with Waterford Kettering on Friday night winning 44-7. They will be tested next week when they head to Fenton to play the Tigers.

Seaholm had no problem with Sterling Heights on Friday night winning 42-6 at home. The Maples will await Groves next week for a rematch.

Groves really had no problem with Avondale on Friday night winning 36-0 in Auburn Hills. The Falcons will head to Seaholm next week for a rematch. The Yellow Jackets will be very young next season but winning three straight to close the year should help things.

Clarkston had to survive on Friday night against Oxford winning 21-7. The Wildcats battled so hard with the Wolves that they dominated time of possession in that game but their offense failed them. They only scored 10 points in four weeks, that’s not good. There will be a ton of questions for Oxford next season. Clarkston will be tested next week against Grand Blanc.

Southfield Arts and Tech had no problem with Troy Athens on Friday night winning 62-6 over the Red Hawks. The Warriors have a great shot to win next week as they will head to Runkel Field to battle Sterling Heights Stevenson. It will be an interesting offseason for the Red Hawks as they lose a ton of experience next season.

Bloomfield Hills fell at home to Troy on Friday night 29-14. The Blackhawks saw their season unravel since the emotional 35-34 victory over Berkley two weeks ago with losses to Avondale and Troy. The Colts played their best game of the season and earned their first win in the postseason since 2007 for their reward is a trip to the Swamp next week to battle West Bloomfield.

West Bloomfield shutout their fourth straight opponent when they beat Utica Ford II 42-0 on Friday night. The Lakers will host Troy next week.

Adams kept the streak alive over Rochester winning 39-7 on Friday night. I was very disappointed in the Falcons especially with all the hype this game got. Parker Picot played well for the Highlanders but they will be tested next week when they head to Davison to play the Cardinals. Rochester should be better next season it will be interesting to see what happens.

I was surprised that Pontiac got blew out by Bay City Central 64-0 on Friday night. It was hard to watch to say the least for them. I feel very bad for them.

Berkley snapped a two game losing streak by beating Royal Oak 23-14 on Friday night. The Ravens will be very interesting to watch this offseason. The Bears have a great shot to win next week when they head to Warren Mott to battle the Marauders.

Three plays decided the Lake Orion/Grand Blanc game on Friday night which resulted in the Bobcats winning 28-14. I thought the Dragons controlled tempo early which showed but three plays were the difference in that game. There will be a ton of questions for Lake Orion this offseason.

Farmington should be better next season after falling 41-15 to Sterling Heights Stevenson on Friday night. The Falcons should be in the mix next season with whom they have coming back.

Ferndale had some issues at home with Detroit Renaissance on Friday night with the Eagles falling 20-14. Ferndale will need to address their non league issues in the offseason. This team should be better next season.

Stoney Creek was off this week but they will be tested next week when they play Chippewa Valley.

About Me

My photo
I have highest function of autism (Asperger Syndrome.) I'm a huge Dallas Stars fan. I like to play and watch football, especially when the Dragons play on Friday nights. I am a 2006 alum and used to play football for the Dragons. I ran track, I ran the 100, 200, 400 meter dashes along with shot-put and discus. During my time in Orion I was a manager for Junior Varsity Boys Basketball team. I'm the volleyball, girls basketball, and football announcer for the team and do the book on the road for girls basketball. I do the clock for volleyball in the fall along with girls basketball in the winter and announce some boys basketball games as well. In the spring I coach shot-put at Scripps Middle School, in my fifth season coaching. I run the shot-put for high school meets. I played Special Olympics Basketball, I've won three gold medals for them. I host "Between Taorminas" which is on ONTV along with a podcast called "OAA Now". In other various things outside of Lake Orion, I love to jet ski over Saginaw Bay. Saginaw Bay is basically my life. I'm a trained weather spotter for the National Weather Service for Oakland and Huron counties.
