OAA Recap: Week Nine.

Written Saturday October 24th at 1:00 AM

INSIDE THE OAA TOP 10:

1. West Bloomfield

2. Clarkston

3. Harrison

4. Oak Park

5. Groves

6. Southfield

7. Berkley

8. Lathrup

9. North Farmington

10. Farmington

BIG WIN: Orion: The Dragons closed out their disappointing season on a high note. Orion had to overcome three fourth down stops to beat Farmington 17-14. The Falcons now sit at 5-4 and could be in danger of missing the playoffs with all the upset losses. The Dragons have a strong junior core along with a talented sophomore class coming in next season. Orion could make a return to the playoffs in 2016.

TOUGH LOSS: Harrison: Tristian Jackson on his final regular season game, scores the winning touchdown on a punt return and then get an interception to seal the game for the Lakers in a 20-14 win over the Hawks. Both teams will at least get home games for the district players. We’ll see where both teams will play next week.

TEAM THAT NEEDS A HUG: Oxford: The Wildcats trailed 49-28 in the third quarter but rallied against the Raiders only to lose 49-42 at home. Oxford went over 300 yards from their pound the rock attack but ended up losing. I really like Nate Fleming the Wildcats sophomore quarterback whom has a good passing attack will be solid next season for Coach Bud Rowley. North Farmington finishes the season at 5-4. Oxford’s future is bright though.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? Stoney Creek: The Cougars whom beat Orion during the season suffered probably an embarrassing defeat to a rival school at home. The Falcons had an 11 game losing streak coming into the game and was 1-15 in its last 16 games. Well they shocked Rochester as they beat Stoney Creek 30-16, snapping that streak. To make matters worse for the Cougars is that Rochester has only scored above 20 points once until tonight. Coach Brad Zube must be sick to his stomach watching what he saw with his Stoney Creek team tonight.
