OAA Recap: Week Eight.

Written Friday October 16th at 11:45 PM.

INSIDE THE OAA TOP 10:

1. West Bloomfield

2. Harrison

3. Clarkston

4. Oak Park

5. Groves

6. Southfield

7. Troy Athens

8. Berkley

9. Farmington

10. Lathrup

BIG WIN: Oak Park: The Knights kept their win streak alive in a big way sending a statement at home against their arch rival Southfield. Oak Park crushed the Blue Jays 50-14 keeping their playoff hopes alive. Southfield must move on from this and take on a Troy Athens team on the road fighting for their playoff lives next week. The Knights even if they finish 5-4 and lose to Clarkston will likely be a playoff team as well but they feel they can beat the Wolves next week.

TOUGH LOSS: Hazel Park: The Vikings put up 28 points against Ferndale and had a 21-14 lead at the half against them but the Eagles behind running back Ronald Gohagon whom rushed for 321 yards and scored five times in a 38-28 win over Hazel Park. This was the most points the Vikings had scored since the Pontiac game but they still lost. The Vikings will close the season out with a home game against Flat Rock whom isn’t very good.

TEAM THAT NEEDS A HUG: Seaholm: The Maples went back and forth with Farmington most of the night until the Falcons picked off a pass for a touchdown in the last two minutes to give themselves a chance in a 44-35 win over the Maples. Farmington now plays an Orion team whom was embarrassed by Clarkston on the road while Seaholm will conclude its season with Troy whom was crushed by Troy Athens.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? Lathrup: It’s odd to believe that the Chargers were hot heading into this game with Berkley but getting shutout at Hurley Field by the Bears is not a good feeling, 41-0??? Thankfully for Lathrup in their final regular season game as a school they will have an opportunity to get into the playoffs if they can knock off a 1-7 Westland John Glenn team on the road next week. If the Chargers can do it then they would be in the playoffs in their final season as a school.

I have highest function of autism (Asperger Syndrome.) I'm a huge Dallas Stars fan. I like to play and watch football, especially when the Dragons play on Friday nights. I am a 2006 alum and used to play football for the Dragons. I ran track, I ran the 100, 200, 400 meter dashes along with shot-put and discus. During my time in Orion I was a manager for Junior Varsity Boys Basketball team. I'm the volleyball, girls basketball, and football announcer for the team and do the book on the road for girls basketball. I do the clock for volleyball in the fall along with girls basketball in the winter and announce some boys basketball games as well. In the spring I coach shot-put at Scripps Middle School, in my fifth season coaching. I run the shot-put for high school meets. I played Special Olympics Basketball, I've won three gold medals for them. I host "Between Taorminas" which is on ONTV along with a podcast called "OAA Now". In other various things outside of Lake Orion, I love to jet ski over Saginaw Bay. Saginaw Bay is basically my life.
