3. Oxford (2-0): Wildcats can win games in so many different ways.

4. Troy (2-0): The Colts defense has allowed 28 points per game in the last two games.

5. Southfield Arts and Tech (1-1): Ah what happened to the Warriors on Saturday???

6. Berkley (1-1): The next two games should test the young Bears.

7. North Farmington (2-0): Raiders handling their business thus far.

8. Troy Athens (2-0): Putting up 76 on an opponent is a strong statement.

9. Stoney Creek (1-1): Lili DiPanni is the real deal.

10. Lake Orion (1-1): Young Dragons going to get better from here.

Top 10 Games This Week.

Girls (Week of December 9th through December 14th)

Clarkston vs Waterford Kettering (Saturday) (OAA-LVC Challenge-at Walled Lake Central): The Wolves have been battle tested and Saturday will be another tough test against a Captains team that is off to a 0-2 start. Waterford Kettering will be different come later in the year though.

Adams at North Farmington (Thursday): It’s very odd to have a league game early in the season. The Highlanders need to respond in the worst way after losing to Utica last Tuesday night. The Raiders will be tested in this one.

Avondale at Birmingham Marian (Wednesday): The Yellow Jackets took a tough loss on Thursday to Southfield Arts and Tech now they head to Birmingham Marian to play the Mustangs. It’s a tough matchup to say the least.

Bloomfield Hills at Adams (Tuesday): Interesting matchup to say the least. Both teams like to go up and down the floor and want to get the game in the high 50’s. Who’s stars show up will win this game.

Troy at Berkley (Tuesday): This is an interesting game, the Colts have experience and the Bears are young and have home court. Berkley has several mismatches in their favor while Troy has the same. This will be a great game between two up and coming teams.

River Rouge at West Bloomfield (Tuesday): The Lakers need a bounce back after losing to Detroit Renaissance on Monday night. River Rouge is no easy cakewalk. They are well coached and talented despite not having a ton of depth.

Walled Lake Western at West Bloomfield (Saturday) (OAA-LVC Challenge): The Lakers should be tested by this point when they head into Saturday’s huge game with the Warriors. Walled Lake Western is coming off a loss to Clarkston and is talented and well coached. It will be interesting to find out what happens.

Berkley at Madison Heights Bishop Foley (Friday): The Bears and the Ventures have become a rivalry of sorts. Madison Heights Bishop Foley is a good team but even with a young team I think Berkley is a better team here.

Plymouth at Royal Oak (Tuesday): The Wildcats put up 50 points in their victory last week. The Ravens are a much different animal. Should be interesting.

Troy Athens at Lakeland (Friday) (OAA-LVC Challenge): Red Hawks are much better than last season. The Eagles are improved as well. It will be very interesting on Lakeland’s home court on Friday night.

Boys (Week of December 9th through December 14th)

Adams at Seaholm (Tuesday): This will be an interesting game between the Maples and Highlanders. Seaholm is very scrappy while Adams has a solid interior. The coaching matchup should be interesting as well between Mike DeGeeter and Jared Thomas.

Berkley at Troy (Tuesday): Are the Bears for real??? we’ll find out on Tuesday.

Southfield Christian at West Bloomfield (Tuesday): This should be an interesting matchup between the Lakers and the Eagles. Southfield Christian is a powerhouse program and has a talented player in DaJion Humphery.

Detroit Renaissance at West Bloomfield (Friday): The Phoenix are very athletic and talented. Can the Lakers keep up in a tough matchup???

Seaholm at Center Line (Thursday): A battle of two scrappy teams and an interesting coaching matchup between Mike DeGeeter and Duane Graves.

Oak Park vs East Kentwood (Saturday at Grand Rapids Ottawa Hills): The Knights should be tested when they take on the Falcons on the west side of the State. It will be interesting to see how Coach Bobby Thompson’s team matches up.

Farmington at Wayne Memorial (Tuesday): The Zebras have two proven guys in Isiah Lewis and Dreyon O’ Neal that will give the Falcons problems in the post. Farmington will be tested in this game.

Harper Woods at North Farmington (Friday): The Raiders are a new team with a ton of size and height. Harper Woods has been there and done that. Should test Coach Todd Negoshain’s team.

Ferndale vs Flint Beecher (Saturday at Southfield Arts and Tech): The Eagles will have a really tough assignment this weekend going up against one of the best guards in the State in Jalen Terry along with Earnest Sanders. Ferndale has experience even though depth is a major concern with this squad.

Lake Orion at Troy Athens (Friday): This will be the first game of the Joel Schroeder era at Lake Orion. The Dragons have a young squad heading into Troy Athens. The Red Hawks have experience and home court. A win here could go a long way for both teams.
