There will be a new coach leading at Oxford Girls Basketball team next season.
Wildcats Coach Steve Emert announced his resignation to his team after Oxford lost 36-26 to Waterford Mott on Monday afternoon at Orion.
"I did resign tonight. My papers are already in. It's a situation and I have someone in waiting to take over the program but it's up to the AD (Cole Andrews) and that process" Emert said to MIPrepZone.
Emert was talking about Rachel Bryer, his longtime assistant to possibly take over the Wildcats program.
He felt that Oxford was in need of a change not only for them but also for him personally. "They need a little bit different direction maybe than me. Plus I got eight grand-kids and my oldest granddaughter is a part time starter at Walled Lake Central. I got to go watch her play. Right now, I can't watch her play."
Emert is a long time coach but he was very successful Walled Lake Central where he coached both Boys and Girls teams and also at Oakland Community College (1999-2001.) His best team was last season when they won the White crown at 16-5 which made them move to the Red this season.
Emert came to Oxford in 2011 and made an immediate impact the next season led by Miranda Murphy, Jessica Murphy, Jaynee Butikewictz, Skye Donaldson, Cherlyn Bandis among others.
The Wildcats this season lose Abby Butikewictz and Caitlin Wright from the team that finished the season 3-18 and 1-9 in the Red this season.
Emert was 59-36 in his five seasons at Oxford.
"But I had a great experience up here" Emert concluded to MIPrepzone.
A new coach hasn't been determined to replace Emert for next season but the new coach will have a very talented freshman class coming up along with players such as Madelyn Morris, Monae Evans, Jordyn Zyngier, Kaitlyn Bean, Ashley Hershman, and Olivia Clark all returning.
We'll see what happens, stay tuned to OAA Now for this developing story.
Thoughts.
I thought personally that Emert would leave last season after their team won the White but the move to the Red he felt was unfair to his team but if you win the division then you got to move up, it's not the Kensington Lakes Athletic Association where they don't realign divisions but even that is in turmoil. "But if the OAA doesn't get us out of the Red Division. It's nuts that they (OAA) got us in the Red Division. It wasn't fair. All year long, we're banging with the big boys and it's tearing my girls apart. That's not right I thought the OAA is suppose to be for equality, that's not equally."
I think Rachel Bryer is ready to take over this team, she should had done it last season but Emert stayed on and coached the team. Oxford does have a good freshman class coming in next season. With the new division realignment coming, it is possible that the Wildcats could stay in the Red or move to the White. A move to the White looks like could be the move Oxford wants.

Girls Basketball District Preview.
Written Saturday February 27th at 4:20 PM
First Round Games: Feb 29th
Second Round Games: March 2nd
Finals: March 4th
District 43 @
Detroit Mumford. CAPS: PROJECTED WINNERS.
FERNDALE vs Detroit Collegiate Prep (5 PM)
Warren Fitzgerald vs DETROIT MUMFORD (7 PM)
Ferndale/Detroit Collegiate Prep vs DETROIT CENTRAL
COLLEGIATE (5 PM)
Warren Fitzgerald/DETROIT MUMFORD vs Hazel Park (7 PM)
PROJECTED DISTRICT FINAL: DETROIT MUMFORD VS DETROIT CENTRAL
COLLEGIATE.
District Final: 5:30 PM
FAVORITE: Detroit Mumford.
TOP CHALLENGER: Warren Fitzgerald.
DARKHORSE: Hazel Park.
KEY PLAYER: Trinity Benton-Hazel Park.
KEY PLAYER: Trinity Benton-Hazel Park.
This district will be interesting, Detroit Mumford is the
favorite because they have home court and have played a tougher schedule in the Detroit Public School League. Hazel
Park could threaten because they have a solid player in
Trinity Benton and have been a different team when she played. Earlier in the season the Vikings didn't have her because of an injury. Warren Fitzgerald will threaten as the Spartans have had a strong season but they have that tough opening game with the Mustangs to start off the district tournament. Don’t know much about Detroit Central or Detroit Collegiate
Prep but they have struggled during the season. Ferndale has some questions especially with what happened against Groves but the Eagles have played better against some Gold teams lately and lost a tough one to Farmington to close out the season.
End of the Day though this district will be Detroit Mumford’s to lose.
PICK: Detroit
Mumford.
District 23 @ Troy
Athens. CAPS: PROJECTED WINNERS.
WARREN MOTT vs Troy Athens (6 PM)
WARREN COUSINO vs Sterling Heights (8 PM)
Warren Mott/Troy Athens vs ROYAL OAK (6 PM)
WARREN COUSINO/Sterling Heights vs Regina (8 PM)
PROJECTED DISTRICT FINAL: WARREN COUSINO VS ROYAL OAK.
District Final: 7 PM
FAVORITE: Warren Cousino
TOP CHALLENGER: Sterling Heights
DARKHORSE: Regina
KEY PLAYER: Kate McArthur-Warren Cousino.
KEY PLAYER: Kate McArthur-Warren Cousino.
This district features the Patriots of Warren Cousino whom shared the Macomb Area Red crown with Port Huron Northern but
the last two seasons were beaten by Sterling Heights in the district
playoffs. Odd enough the Stallions and the Patriots will play each other in the first round of the tournament. The Patriots are led by guard Kierra Fletcher whom has been mentioned as a All State candidate and is a future Division One recruit and also top freshman Kate McArthur. A newcomer comes to the party in Regina whom went to the Catholic League semifinals this season. Two of the Saddlelites wins came against Birmingham Marian. Regina will be led by Teresa Diehl but the question for the Saddlelites will be size up front but their guards are talented make up for the difference. Royal Oak is here in this district and will be a tough out for
anyone because of their depth and mental defensive toughness. The Ravens are led by Samantha Potter and Giana Valetene, among others. Royal Oak will benefit with being in the White division this season which helped them get ready for the tournament. Troy Athens shared the Gold title with Groves and Berkley is interesting as they could
give teams some fits in the district led by Maddie Crumm. The Red Hawks though is an interesting team to keep an eye on. Warren Mott is an interesting team here because they are talented themselves led by their guards Taylor Russell and Mariah Taylor. The Maruarders will be a team to watch as well in the tournament. I see a Ravens vs Patriots District Final
here with Warren Cousino overcoming their demons and moving on.
PICK: Warren Cousino.
District 24 @ Southfield. CAPS: PROJECTED WINNERS.
SOUTHFIELD-LATHRUP vs Berkley (7 PM)
SOUTHFIELD vs Oak Park (5:30 PM)
SOUTHFIELD-LATHRUP/Berkley vs Detroit Renaissance (7 PM)
PROJECTED DISTRICT FINAL: SOUTHFIELD VS SOUTHFIELD-LATHRUP.
District Final: 7 PM
FAVORITE: Southfield-Lathrup
TOP CHALLENGER: Detroit Renaissance
DARKHORSE: Southfield
KEY PLAYER: Siyeh Frazer-Detroit Renaissance.
KEY PLAYER: Siyeh Frazer-Detroit Renaissance.
The Chargers are peaking at the right time ever since the loss to Birmingham Detroit Country Day. Lathrup is a State title
contending team that should win its district easily because of talented players like Keheandre Bello, Taige Bello, Deja Church, and Antionette Miller, all of them going to Division One Schools but don’t say that to
Detroit Renaissance whom is talented led by their Division One recruit in Penn State bound Siyeh Frazer. The Phoenix are coming off a tough loss in the Detroit Public School League Final to Detroit Martin Luther King. Detroit Renaissance won their Operation Friendship Game at Mercy over the host Marlins. The question will be the depth of
the Phoenix when they play Lathrup because in the summer league at Oakland, Detroit Renaissance was outmatched by the Chargers. Southfield won the Blue this season and finished 19-1 but their only loss was to Lathrup by 21 points at home. The Blue Jays are very experienced led by Krystal Lynn DeFoe and Stormeigth Mattison, among others. Berkley is shared the Gold crown has won three straight to close out the season led by their top guard Celia Somers but the Bears are not at Lathrup’s
league nor is Oak Park despite the fact the Knights had a great league season in the Blue but a tough out of conference stretch. This district though is the Chargers to lose because of their four Division One recruits but if there is a way to beat them it's what Detroit Country Day did to them, get them into foul trouble and make them use their bench.
PICK:
Southfield-Lathrup.
District 21 @ West
Bloomfield. CAPS: PROJECTED WINNERS.
Farmington vs NORTH FARMINGTON (7 PM)
WEST BLOOMFIELD vs Mercy (5 PM)
North Farmington/Farmington vs HARRISON (7 PM)
PROJECTED DISTRICT FINAL: WEST BLOOMFIELD VS HARRISON.
District Final: 7 PM
FAVORITE: Harrison
TOP CHALLENGER: North Farmington
DARKHORSE: West Bloomfield
KEY PLAYER: Olivia Perkins-Harrison.
KEY PLAYER: Olivia Perkins-Harrison.
This is an interesting district with Farmington coming north from Detroit along with West Bloomfield coming into the district. The Hawks
seem to be the early favorite in this district despite the turmoil they had endured. Harrison
went through with the dismissal of Coach Allen Walker and have done real well under coach Stefan Wilson. Mercy went to the
Catholic League Final where they lost to Birmingham Marian and lost to Detroit Renaissance in the Operation Friendship Game appears to be a different team when healthy. The
Marlins has improved and became dangerous despite being down this season
in the Catholic League led by Chloe Godbold. West Bloomfield is a much better home team then they are on the road. The Lakers are led by
Charlika Stubbs and Taylor Pierce. North Farmington won the White this season is led by Kierra Crockett
and Samantha Cherney will be a top contender also in this district. Farmington has improved lately but hasn't fared well all season long. Five
teams could win this district but early favorite, got to give it to Harrison, a
lot of experience led by Kristen Nelson and Amber Stephens but the key is Olivia Perkins, Nyla Warren, and Teddi Pickens because Nelson and Stephens
will get a lot of attention. I think Nelson and Stephens will do their thing but if the three players mentioned above have a big game and they are capable of having one then they could win their second district title.
PICK: Harrison.
District 25 @
Bloomfield Hills. CAPS: PROJECTED WINNERS.
Troy vs SEAHOLM (5:30 PM)
BIRMINGHAM MARIAN vs Bloomfield Hills (7:15 PM)
Troy/SEAHOLM vs Avondale (5:30 PM)
BIRMINGHAM MARIAN/Bloomfield Hills vs Groves (7:15 PM)
PROJECTED DISTRICT FINAL: SEAHOLM VS BIRMINGHAM MARIAN.
District Final (7 PM)
FAVORITE: Birmingham Marian
TOP CHALLENGER: Bloomfield Hills
DARKHORSE: Seaholm
KEY PLAYER: Olivia Moore-Birmingham Marian.
KEY PLAYER: Olivia Moore-Birmingham Marian.
Hard to believe that I thought it would be the host school
Bloomfield Hills would be the favorite to win this district but the loss of
Amanda Sape whom was injured against Orion will play a huge issue for them
along with their home court struggles. Birmingham Marian has something led by
Elizabeth Grobbell and Olivia Moore will be a factor in this district despite winning the Catholic League and losing a tough one to Detroit Martin Luther King in Operation Friendship.
Seaholm is the dark horse in the district because of Mackenzie Harbort and Dana
Hoerman despite having a really bad loss to Berkley. Avondale has Alissa Smith and Addie Saltarreii and have struggled mighty this season. Groves shared the Gold title has Shea Carter whom has emerged as a top player this season. Troy has struggled all season but the Colts have Johanna Layfette whom has been red hot the last few games
in her senior season along with Megan Lenihan. This will be a good district to watch, if Sape was back I
would go Bloomfield Hills but can’t trust them on their home court, which means
the Mustangs will move on despite having a down season.
PICK: Birmingham
Marian.
District 30 @
Utica. CAPS: PROJECTED WINNERS.
Rochester vs UTICA (7 PM)
STONEY CREEK vs Utica Eisenhower (5 PM)
Rochester/Utica vs ADAMS (7 PM)
PROJECTED DISTRICT FINAL: STONEY CREEK VS ADAMS.
District Final (7 PM)
FAVORITE: Stoney Creek
TOP CHALLENGER: Utica Eisenhower
DARKHORSE: Adams
KEY PLAYER: Nicole Meyer-Utica Eisenhower.
KEY PLAYER: Nicole Meyer-Utica Eisenhower.
This district could be one of the toughest district in the State
because this is virtually a pick em at the small gym of Utica High School.
Stoney Creek and Utica Eisenhower have played at Utica this season with mixed
results (The Cougars won, the Ealges lost.) Adams is peaking at the right time after having a strong February with their only loss being to Lathrup. The Highlanders are led by Taylor Smith and Maggie
Rogers but Hannah Simard has emerged in the post this season for them. The Cougars have their full team back and when healthy they are very dangerous led by Emma Sobychinki, Ally Voss, Courtney Solek, and Emily Solek. The Eagles and Chieftains
have split their two regular season meetings (both teams are co-champs of the Macomb Area White division.) Utica is led by Cierra von Zittwitz and Paige Spinale. Utica Eisenhower is led by Nicole Meyer, Paige Montreuil and Malynn Kosnik. Rochester has struggled with injuries all season and could
spoil someone’s season led by Jenna Norgrove and Tori Hawkins. This district is a pick em, it’s anyone’s ball game
here.
PICK: Stoney Creek.
District 31 @
Orion. CAPS: PROJECTED WINNERS.
OXFORD vs Waterford Mott (5:30 PM)
CLARKSTON vs Waterford Kettering (7 PM)
CLARKSTON/Waterford Kettering vs Pontiac (5:30 PM)
Oxford/Waterford Mott vs ORION (7 PM)
PROJECTED DISTRICT FINAL: ORION VS CLARKSTON.
District Final: 7 PM
FAVORITE: Waterford Kettering
TOP CHALLENGER: Orion
DARK-HORSE: Clarkston
KEY PLAYER: Evelyn Wischmeyer-Orion
KEY PLAYER: Evelyn Wischmeyer-Orion
This district is interesting when you look at Waterford
Kettering and Waterford Mott are still good teams but have taken some lumps so far
this season despite the Captains winning the Kensington Lakes Athletic Association North Division. The Corsairs are led by Liam Hung, Monica Reiche, MiKayla Gean, and Myra Williams. Waterford Kettering are a very experienced team led by Haley Tewes, Emily Bernas, Lila Schoof, and Marnee Holland. Orion has had to overcome internal issues this season and is led by Maddie
Novak, Lauren Thorne, and Evelyn Wischmeyer. Oxford has gotten better despite their record led
by Abigail Butkewitz, Madeline Morris, and the impact of Monae Evans. Clarkston has had a solid
first season under coach Christine Rogers are led by Kayla Luchenbach and Kayla Russell. Pontiac has improved its win total each
season since going 0-21 in 2013-2014 and has a solid core of players led by Infinite Rowe. This will be a fun district as five teams have a great shot at winning
this district. This would be the district where an upset could happen.
PICK: Orion.

Lantzy Enters the OAA becomes new Stoney Creek Football Coach.
Written Wednesday February 24th at 3:30 PM
A legend is coming back to football.
Long time Utica Eisenhower football coach Bob Lantzy is now the new head coach at Stoney Creek replacing Brad Zube whom left for Ortonville Brandon last month.
Lantzy (70) coached for 41 seasons (1971-2011) and went 304-155-1 as Eagles Coach. His 304 victories places him tied for eighth all time in the MHSAA all time winiest coaches in State history. He was the Macomb County Coach of the Year four times and has went to four State Championship games. Lantzy has won 12 MAC Red titles in the process. His teams have qualified for the playoffs each year from 1999-2011.
Lantzy retired from High School coaching in 2011 and his defensive coordinator Chris Smith took over at Utica Eisenhower. He coached at Powell Middle School in Romeo for two seasons before deciding to come back into High School coaching.
Lantzy is a legend in high school football especially in Macomb County. His teams have been well known for his defensive mindset. The Cougars allowed 200 points (22.2 ppg) last season and 212 points (23.5 ppg) in 2014. Fixing the defense will be key especially in a league like the Red in which they have the likes of Orion, Oxford, Clarkston, Southfield, West Bloomfield, and Troy Athens.
Stoney Creek last season was 3-6 and has only made three playoff appearances since they became a school in 2002. The last appearance was in 2013.
Thoughts.
This is a great hire for the Cougars by Athletic Director Rick Jakacki bringing in a legend in Lantzy, with his championship pedigree and long time experience but Stoney Creek will have to go into a transition period from adjusting from Zube to Lantzy. Lantzy is more of a traditional offensive guy but the defense will change under him for the better.
He will make the talent better at Stoney Creek and his impact there will be huge coming back to the High School sidelines. It will be odd to see him in Navy Blue and Gold than in Blue and Silver to say the least.
The Red just more interesting by the second.

OAA Picks. Feb 18, 19.
Written Wednesday February 17th at 12:30 PM
Girls.
Red.
Harrison at Lathrup: Antoinette Miller is insane, outscoring
the entire Troy team by herself 31-23 on Tuesday. The Chargers won 78-23 over
the Colts. Lathrup meanwhile is getting ready for a State title run into the playoffs
led by Miller, Deja Church, and the Bello Twins (Kehindre and Taige.) The Hawks
had a rough week with an injury to Olivia Perkins and the resignation of Allen
Walker which led to two losses. The last time these two met was in Farmington where
the Chargers won 80-43. Harrison is a proud team but Lathrup though is a
different animal. It could be a long night for Charles Perkins and crew in
Lathrup Village. PICK: LATHRUP BY 14.
Stoney Creek at Clarkston: Ah the “Tribute to the Troops
Game” at Clarkston, a very important event and it’s a big game for both teams.
The Wolves are starting to get their act together led by Kayla Luchenbach. The
Cougars had a tough loss 44-33 to Adams but is expected to have Emily Solek
back. Clarkston won at Stoney Creek 33-23 in the last meeting but the Cougars
are a different team now but so are the Wolves. PICK: CLARKSTON BY 4.
Oxford at Adams: The Highlanders in the month of February is
4-1 with its only loss being to State Ranked Lathrup. Adams has managed to get its
act together since losing 56-36 to Orion on January 29th. The
Highlanders have been getting balance efforts from Taylor Smith, Maggie Rogers,
and Hannah Simard. The Wildcats lost 40-32 to Lapeer on Tuesday night
and have gotten contributions from Monae Evans, and Abigail Butkecwitz. Oxford
won the last meeting 53-47 but gut feeling is telling me that this is a
different Adams team than the last time the Wildcats have seen them. PICK:
ADAMS BY 7.
White.
Orion at North Farmington: This game will decide whom will
likely play Lathrup in the Crossover and have major league title hopes. The
Dragons have won eight of the last nine games while the Raiders have won four
of five games since losing 34-31 to Orion. This has the makings of yet another
classic close game at North Farmington. This game will be tight as always in
the past. The Raiders are a much better home team but the Dragons are a much
better road team though. PICK: ORION BY 1.
West Bloomfield at Troy: The Lakers snapped a five game
losing streak last week with a 39-35 win over Bloomfield Hills. West Bloomfield
led by Taylor Pierce and Charlika Stubbs has appeared to get back on the right
track. The Colts were destroyed 78-23 by Lathrup and have lost four straight
games but Johanna Layfette has stepped her game up as of late, including which
she had 25 points against Orion and 11 points against Lathrup. The last time
these two met, the Lakers won 45-29. It will be much closer but same team will
win. PICK: WEST BLOOMFIELD BY 8.
Royal Oak at Bloomfield Hills: The Pink game for the
Blackhawks is Friday. These two teams are different now with Bloomfield Hills
playing at home for the first time since the Amanda Sape concussion against
Orion. The Ravens are coming off a tough loss to North Farmington 31-28. The
Blackhawks have had trouble at home shooting and it could very well continue
against a very good defensive team in Royal Oak. The last time these two teams
met Bloomfield Hills had to survive thanks to Victorie Franklin and Sape 39-36.
This has upset written all over it. PICK: ROYAL OAK BY 5.
Blue.
Southfield at Oak Park: The Blue Jays will be rolling along toward
a Blue crown. The Knights have been inconsistent, one of which included a 50-44
loss to Avondale a few weeks ago. The last time these two teams met it was
62-46 Southfield. The Blue Jays will win in Knight Valley by double figures.
PICK: SOUTHFIELD BY 13.
Rochester at Farmington: The Falcons have won two straight
games including a 42-25 win over Avondale last week. The other Falcons have
struggled all season. It could be a long night for the home Falcons on Thursday
night. PICK: ROCHESTER BY 20.
Seaholm at Avondale: The Maples will be coming off a back to
back after playing at Ferndale the night before and taking on a Yellow Jackets
team that hasn’t been consistent all season and suffered a bad loss to
Rochester 42-25. Seaholm is a different animal led by Mackenzie Harbort, Caroline
Owens, and Dana Hoerman. These three will lead the way against Avondale. PICK:
SEAHOLM BY 14.
Gold.
Ferndale at Berkley: Bears are rolling right now getting
ready for that tough Southfield district coming up. The Eagles not sure what is
going on after their altercation with Groves. Last time both these teams met
Ferndale was demolished 54-17, it could be the same result. PICK: BERKLEY BY
30.
Hazel Park at Groves: The Vikings have been struggling to
score as of late but the Falcons have plenty of scoring to go around which
could lead them to a Gold Championship pending if they get past Berkley next
week. PICK: GROVES BY 33.
Pontiac at Troy Athens: This is the first game in a span of
six days for the Phoenix. Tough stretch to close out the season for Pontiac.
The Red Hawks beat Linden 45-37 on Monday. The last time these two teams met it
was 59-26 Troy Athens. It could be a repeat performance again. PICK: TROY
ATHENS BY 30.
Pontiac at Cornerstone: In the second game of a rough
stretch for the Phoenix, life on the road won’t be easy as they go into Wayne
County to play Cornerstone. If anything Pontiac has experience going into Wayne
County but can they win there is the question. PICK: CORNERSTONE BY 2.
Boys.
Red.
Clarkston at Southfield: The Wolves are heading in the right
direction after scoring 76 points but so are the Blue Jays after beating Adams
last week. If Southfield can pull off the huge 5:30 PM upset, then it would
help them hugely but then again this is Clarkston. PICK: CLARKSTON BY 14.
Troy Athens at North Farmington: The Raiders put up 98
points against Lathrup on Tuesday while the Red Hawks only scored 34 points
against Southfield. This could be scary for Troy Athens. PICK: NORTH FARMINGTON
BY 46.
Lathrup at Adams: The Highlanders are in a rare two game
losing streak but haven’t been the same since losing to Southfield last week.
The Chargers put up 69 points which was their highest point total this season
but allowed their highest point total of 98 points. The last time these teams
met it was 68-48 Adams. Expect this one to be a Highlanders win. PICK: ADAMS BY
24.
White.
Troy at West Bloomfield: This game maybe the best game in
the division, the Colts are red hot winning five straight games and is only two
games back in the division. The Lakers have gotten back on the right track by
winning three straight games. This one will be a good one, the last time these
two teams met it was 59-45 West Bloomfield over Troy. This game will be much
closer than people think. PICK: WEST BLOOMFIELD BY 2.
Bloomfield Hills at Avondale: The Yellow Jackets came off a
huge 48-47 win at Pontiac on Tuesday causing a three-way tie for the White
between Pontiac, West Bloomfield, and Bloomfield Hills. The Blackhawks have
really struggled losing three straight to three good teams since winning 90-83
in four overtimes over Oak Park. The last time these two teams met Bloomfield
Hills beat Avondale 54-48. This will be a good one in Auburn Hills and expect
this one to be close. PICK: AVONDALE BY 2.
Pontiac at Oak Park: The Phoenix lost a tough one on Tuesday
to Avondale 48-47. The Knights still waiting for Kevon Fuller to come back and
play but it’s looking unlikely he will play this year. Oak Park has lost three
straight games. The last time these two teams met Pontiac won 52-50 over the
Knights. This game will be a classic yet again. PICK: PONTIAC BY 1.
Blue.
Orion at Farmington: The Dragons season is now about pride
and getting ready for districts after losing a heartbreaker to Stoney Creek in
overtime 62-61. Orion won 77-72 over Farmington in the last meeting. The
Falcons have been in turmoil with injuries and suspensions to top notch
players. The Dragons have been injury riddled and has hurt its depth because of
it. I think the team that has the more stability and is ticked will win this
game. PICK: ORION BY 15.
Rochester at Seaholm: The Falcons won their final home game
of the season by beating Farmington 62-49 on Tuesday. Rochester has had a
better season thus far and the last time they met the Maples they won 59-50.
Seaholm lost 58-43 to Oxford and have been battling consistency troubles but
the Maples have to be patient before districts start. PICK: ROCHESTER BY 4.
Stoney Creek at Oxford: The Cougars survived Orion in
overtime 62-61 on Tuesday night. Stoney Creek can win the league outright on
Friday at Oxford. The Wildcats have won two straight games since the loss to
Ferndale. It could be a long night for Bill Service and crew because of the
Cougars three point shooting ability. PICK: STONEY CREEK BY 9.
Gold.
Royal Oak at Ferndale: The Ravens have really struggled,
losing three straight games. Royal Oak must find a way to turn it around before
districts start. The Eagles since the Oxford 65-55 win have lost two straight
games. The last time these two met it was 71-37 Ravens. Someone has to win this
game. PICK: ROYAL OAK BY 14.
Groves at Harrison: The Hawks want to get a measure of
revenge against the Falcons after being embarrassed 67-38 in January. Groves
though has won three straight games and is rolling at the right time. Harrison
lost a heartbreaker 59-58 to Berkley and have lost three of their last four
games. This game will be interesting to watch in Farmington. PICK: GROVES BY
10.
Berkley at Hazel Park: The Vikings are well on their way to
a Gold title. The Bears came off an emotional 59-58 win over Harrison. Hazel
Park is a different team right now as they get ready for districts. The last
time these two teams met it was 80-57 Vikings over Berkley. PICK: HAZEL PARK BY
15.

About Me
- Saginaw Bay
- I have highest function of autism (Asperger Syndrome.) I'm a huge Dallas Stars fan. I like to play and watch football, especially when the Dragons play on Friday nights. I am a 2006 alum and used to play football for the Dragons. I ran track, I ran the 100, 200, 400 meter dashes along with shot-put and discus. During my time in Orion I was a manager for Junior Varsity Boys Basketball team. I'm the volleyball, girls basketball, and football announcer for the team and do the book on the road for girls basketball. I do the clock for volleyball in the fall along with girls basketball in the winter and announce some boys basketball games as well. In the spring I coach shot-put at Scripps Middle School, in my fifth season coaching. I run the shot-put for high school meets. I played Special Olympics Basketball, I've won three gold medals for them. I host "Between Taorminas" which is on ONTV along with a podcast called "OAA Now". In other various things outside of Lake Orion, I love to jet ski over Saginaw Bay. Saginaw Bay is basically my life. I'm a trained weather spotter for the National Weather Service for Oakland and Huron counties.
