BIG WIN: Groves: The Falcons held an early 17-7 lead early in the fourth quarter in the Swamp only to see the Lakers come back to tie the game at 17-17 but West Bloomfield made a miscue on a punt and Groves recovered. The Falcons would score a touchdown to take a 24-17 lead with 36 seconds to go. Groves would have to hang on late and stop a hail marry attempt to seal the upset in the Swamp. The Falcons will play their first game on their new football field when they host Rochester while the Lakers will head to Southfield to take on the Warriors next week.

TOUGH LOSS: Stoney Creek: The Cougars lost a tough one to Seaholm on Friday night 20-13. Stoney Creek battled until the end but it was the Maples who got their first White win since 2016 when they beat Farmington 29-28. The Cougars will have a huge home game looming with Troy Athens next week while Seaholm heads to Troy next week.

WHAT HAPPENED: Southfield and Tech: The Warriors had a ton of emotion after beating Clarkston 28-14 last week but they went to Lake Orion and was humbled 37-7 by the Dragons. Southfield Arts and Tech could be in some trouble especially with West Bloomfield coming to Southfield next week.

TEAM THAT NEED A HUG: Avondale: The Yellow Jackets lost a tough one to Detroit Renaissance 20-14 in Auburn Hills. Avondale should be fine going forward with the schedule despite the loss to the Phoenix. They will host another set of Phoenix in Pontiac next week.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME: Rochester: The Falcons were just blown out on their home field by the Knights 53-0. Oak Park showed no mercy on Rochester who has been outscored 113-24 in their last two games. The schedule doesn’t get any easier for the Falcons as they have to go to Groves next week.

TEAM THAT ME SHAKE MY HEAD: Troy: The Colts lost their quarterback to injury and was blown out by Troy Athens 42-0. The Red Hawks are 2-0 for the first time since 2011. They will have a huge game with Stoney Creek on Friday. It could be a very long year for Troy as they have been outscored 64-0 in their last two weeks. The Colts will have their homecoming and home opener next week against Seaholm.

My photo
I have highest function of autism (Asperger Syndrome.) I'm a huge Dallas Stars fan. I like to play and watch football, especially when the Dragons play on Friday nights. I am a 2006 alum and used to play football for the Dragons. I ran track, I ran the 100, 200, 400 meter dashes along with shot-put and discus. During my time in Orion I was a manager for Junior Varsity Boys Basketball team. I'm the volleyball, girls basketball, and football announcer for the team and do the book on the road for girls basketball. I do the clock for volleyball in the fall along with girls basketball in the winter and announce some boys basketball games as well. In the spring I coach shot-put at Scripps Middle School, in my fifth season coaching. I run the shot-put for high school meets. I played Special Olympics Basketball, I've won three gold medals for them. I host "Between Taorminas" which is on ONTV along with a podcast called "OAA Now". In other various things outside of Lake Orion, I love to jet ski over Saginaw Bay. Saginaw Bay is basically my life. I'm a trained weather spotter for the National Weather Service for Oakland and Huron counties.
