Rochester at 1. Groves: The battle of the Falcons is this week in Beverly Hills but these two sets of birds are heading on opposite directions. Rochester has been outscored 113-24 in two weeks including last week’s 53-0 home loss to Oak Park. Groves shocked sports writers and the State when they beat West Bloomfield 24-17 in the Swamp.

2. Oak Park at 7. Clarkston: The Knights have won the last two meetings over the Wolves including last season’s 21-14 victory. Oak Park destroyed Rochester 53-0 while Clarkston hammered Bloomfield Hills 51-7 last week. Playmakers could be key in this game.

BURNEY PICK: OAK PARK 34, CLARKSTON 24.
STICK PICK: CLARKSTON 21, OAK PARK 20.

FULL COURT PICK: OAK PARK 35, CLARKSTON 30.
TIM PICK: CLARKSTON 21, OAK PARK 7.
D-ZONE PICK: CLARKSTON 10, OAK PARK 7.

3. West Bloomfield at Southfield Arts and Tech: Both of these teams are coming off tough losses (The Lakers to Groves 24-17 and the Warriors 37-7 to Lake Orion) last week. Southfield Arts and Tech stunned West Bloomfield 37-35 last year at the Swamp but the last time the Lakers went into Southfield they put up 62 two years ago in a 62-35 blowout. Wonder if a repeat performance is in store???

SANDY DUNES PICK: WEST BLOOMFIELD 56, SOUTHFIELD ARTS AND TECH 7.
DUNLAP PICK: WEST BLOOMFIELD 24, SOUTHFIELD ARTS AND TECH 21.
BURNEY PICK: WEST BLOOMFIELD 31, SOUTHFIELD ARTS AND TECH 21.
STICK PICK: WEST BLOOMFIELD 28, SOUTHFIELD ARTS AND TECH 20.
COTTER PICK: WEST BLOOMFIELD 24, SOUTHFIELD ARTS AND TECH 14.
FULL COURT PICK: WEST BLOOMFIELD 37, SOUTHFIELD ARTS AND TECH 35.
TIM PICK: WEST BLOOMFIELD 35, SOUTHFIELD ARTS AND TECH 14.
D-ZONE PICK: WEST BLOOMFIELD 42, SOUTHFIELD ARTS AND TECH 21.

5. Adams at 4. Lake Orion: This is going to be interesting with both teams off to strong starts and both squads bring different styles of play into this game. This was Carter Farris breakout game two years ago when he threw for two touchdowns in a 32-8 blowout at Lake Orion. The Dragons went to Adams and won 28-24 last season which was huge in their turnaround that year. The Highlanders beat Oxford 31-7 while Lake Orion beat Southfield Arts and Tech 37-7 last week. This game is shaping up to be one of the best matchups in Oakland County this week.

SANDY DUNES PICK: LAKE ORION 27, ADAMS 14.
DUNLAP PICK: ADAMS 17, LAKE ORION 14.
BURNEY PICK: LAKE ORION 28, ADAMS 27.
STICK PICK: LAKE ORION 28, ADAMS 24.
COTTER PICK: LAKE ORION 24, ADAMS 7.
FULL COURT PICK: LAKE ORION 17, ADAMS 14.
TIM PICK: ADAMS 28, LAKE ORION 14.
D-ZONE PICK: LAKE ORION 17, ADAMS 14.

Ferndale at 6. North Farmington: This is a huge game for the Eagles if they want to get back into the playoff discussion. The Raiders are 2-0 for the first time since 2013 and look to be in a good place right now. North Farmington beat Berkley 42-6 while Ferndale beat Pontiac 44-6 last week. This should be interesting but as mentioned if the Eagles want to make the playoffs they need to win this game.

SANDY DUNES PICK: NORTH FARMINGTON 24, FERNDALE 22.
DUNLAP PICK: NORTH FARMINGTON 21, FERNDALE 20.
BURNEY PICK: NORTH FARMINGTON 32, FERNDALE 16.
STICK PICK: NORTH FARMINGTON 21, FERNDALE 14.
COTTER PICK: NORTH FARMINGTON 35, FERNDALE 6.
FULL COURT PICK: NORTH FARMINGTON 28, FERNDALE 21.
TIM PICK: NORTH FARMINGTON 35, FERNDALE 21.
D-ZONE PICK: NORTH FARMINGTON 35, FERNDALE 21.

8. Seaholm at Troy: The Maples won their first White league game since 2016 with a 20-13 victory over Stoney Creek last week. Seaholm is rolling heading to Troy to take on a Colts team that has been outscored 64-0 in two weeks including a 42-0 loss last week to arch rival Troy Athens. This is Troy’s homecoming which is very odd to have a homecoming during your home opener. This could get ugly real quick.

SANDY DUNES PICK: SEAHOLM 42, TROY 0.
DUNLAP PICK: SEAHOLM 28, TROY 7.
BURNEY PICK: SEAHOLM 27, TROY 17.
STICK PICK: SEAHOLM 35, TROY 14.
COTTER PICK: SEAHOLM 42, TROY 0.
FULL COURT PICK: SEAHOLM 35, TROY 6.
TIM PICK: SEAHOLM 49, TROY 0.
D-ZONE PICK: SEAHOLM 42, TROY 0.

9. Farmington at Ypsilanti Lincoln: This could be an interesting test in the first meeting ever between the Falcons and the Railsplitters on the new gray turf. Ypsilanti Lincoln beat Tecumseh 35-12 last week prior to beating Adrian 41-20 two weeks ago. Farmington has blown out their two respective opponents (Royal Oak and Detroit Henry Ford) by a combined 82-16 including last week’s 49-10 over Royal Oak. This will be an interesting matchup in Ypsilanti.

SANDY DUNES PICK: FARMINGTON 28, YPSILANTI LINCOLN 24.
DUNLAP PICK: FARMINGTON 31, YPSILANTI LINCOLN 7.
BURNEY PICK: FARMINGTON 28, YPSILANTI LINCOLN 21.
STICK PICK: FARMINGTON 35, YPSILANTI LINCOLN 34.
COTTER PICK: FARMINGTON 28, YPSILANTI LINCOLN 21.
FULL COURT PICK: FARMINGTON 28, YPSILANTI LINCOLN 7.
TIM PICK: FARMINGTON 35, YPSILANTI LINCOLN 7.
D-ZONE PICK: FARMINGTON 32, YPSILANTI LINCOLN 13.

10. Troy Athens at Stoney Creek: The Red Hawks have been starting fast which is what coach Billy Keenest and his team wanted. Troy Athens won 42-0 over arch rival Troy last week and have been riding a ton of momentum. This will be a test for the Red Hawks as they head to Rochester to take on a Cougars team that lost a tough one 20-13 to Seaholm last week. Troy Athens lost at home 34-14 to Stoney Creek last season. This will be an interesting game to say the least.

SANDY DUNES PICK: STONEY CREEK 27, TROY ATHENS 20.
DUNLAP PICK: STONEY CREEK 24, TROY ATHENS 17.
BURNEY PICK: TROY ATHENS 35, STONEY CREEK 25.
STICK PICK: STONEY CREEK 28, TROY ATHENS 21.
COTTER PICK: STONEY CREEK 27, TROY ATHENS 14.
FULL COURT PICK: TROY ATHENS 35, STONEY CREEK 28.
TIM PICK: TROY ATHENS 28, STONEY CREEK 14.
D-ZONE PICK: STONEY CREEK 35, TROY ATHENS 14.

Oxford at Bloomfield Hills: The Wildcats have been struggling lately. I’m not sure if it’s the white pants. Oxford lost 31-7 to Adams last week and will have another road test this week at Bloomfield Hills. The Blackhawks were pounded by Clarkston 51-7 last week. The Wildcats won 56-17 last season but lost 26-14 the last time they went to Bloomfield Hills. This matchup looks to be a mismatch on paper but that’s why they play the game.

SANDY DUNES PICK: OXFORD 35, BLOOMFIELD HILLS 21.
DUNLAP PICK: OXFORD 21, BLOOMFIELD HILLS 17.
BURNEY PICK: BLOOMFIELD HILLS 22, OXFORD 20.
STICK PICK: OXFORD 28, BLOOMFIELD HILLS 21.
COTTER PICK: OXFORD 35, BLOOMFIELD HILLS 14.
FULL COURT PICK: OXFORD 45, BLOOMFIELD HILLS 10.
TIM PICK: OXFORD 42, BLOOMFIELD HILLS 6.
D-ZONE PICK: OXFORD 35, BLOOMFIELD HILLS 14.

Pontiac at Avondale: The Phoenix made some progress against Ferndale scoring a touchdown in a 44-6 loss last week. The Yellow Jackets were not happy after losing 20-14 to Detroit Renaissance last week. Avondale humiliated Pontiac 67-0 at Wisner Stadium last season and has been really dominant against them. It will be interesting to see what happens.

SANDY DUNES PICK: AVONDALE 49, PONTIAC 0.
DUNLAP PICK: AVONDALE 28, PONTIAC 6.
BURNEY PICK: AVONDALE 31, PONTIAC 12.
STICK PICK: AVONDALE 28, PONTIAC 7.
COTTER PICK: AVONDALE 49, PONTIAC 8.
FULL COURT PICK: AVONDALE 35, PONTIAC 14.
TIM PICK: AVONDALE 63, PONTIAC 0.
D-ZONE PICK: AVONDALE 56, PONTIAC 0.

Royal Oak at Berkley: “The Curb” is on the line at Hurley Field. The Bears were humiliated 37-0 last season at Royal Oak. Berkley has played a tough schedule to their defense even though they lost 42-6 to North Farmington last week. The Ravens are a team that I’m shaking my head lately. Royal Oak lost 49-10 to Farmington last week. This will be a very interesting matchup but someone will be 0-3.

SANDY DUNES PICK: BERKLEY 28, ROYAL OAK 17.
DUNLAP PICK: ROYAL OAK 24, BERKLEY 23.
BURNEY PICK: BERKLEY 24, ROYAL OAK 22.
STICK PICK: ROYAL OAK 14, BERKLEY 10.
COTTER PICK: ROYAL OAK 14, BERKLEY 13.
FULL COURT PICK: ROYAL OAK 19, BERKLEY 10.
TIM PICK: BERKLEY 21, ROYAL OAK 17.
D-ZONE PICK: BERKLEY 16, ROYAL OAK 13.
