Wrestling Team District Preview.

Written Monday February 5th at 6:00 PM

These are the team Wrestling District preview for the 22 OAA teams competing in Division One and Two. Most districts are set for either Wednesday or Thursday of this week. Anyway here is my thoughts and insights on each district.

District 105. 1 @ Waterford Kettering

CLARKSTON vs Waterford

Thoughts and Pick: This is a mismatch on paper, both Waterford Kettering and Waterford Mott merged this season and they will take on Clarkston. As mentioned, this is a mismatch, going with the Wolves here. PICK: CLARKSTON.

District 106.1 @ Romeo

OXFORD vs Romeo
Port Huron vs Port Huron Northern.

Thoughts and Pick: This is a mismatch on paper, Oxford is deep and talented on paper. Romeo could give them a scare and so will Port Huron Northern but not likely and they should have no problem rolling in this district. PICK: OXFORD.

District 107.1 @ Orion

ORION vs ADAMS
ROCHESTER vs STONEY CREEK

Thoughts and Pick: Really concerned about Orion’s injuries and they have played Adams and lost close. The Dragons can not ill afford to have voids here. I can this being an all Rochester final with the Highlanders coming out on top. PICK: ADAMS.

District 108.1 @ Troy

TROY vs Utica Eisenhower
TROY ATHENS vs Utica

Thoughts and Pick: This is a pick em district when you look at the teams. Utica Eisenhower has had a rough season. Utica has had a rough season as well. Troy is in the White and Troy Athens is in the Blue. When in doubt always go with the home team. PICK: TROY.

District 126. 1 @ Southfield Arts and Tech

SOUTHFIELD ARTS AND TECH vs Birmingham Brother Rice
GROVES vs SEAHOLM

Thoughts and Pick: Southfield Arts and Tech could be the team to beat. Seaholm will challenge in this district but they have to get by Groves. The Warriors should move on and strong in this district. PICK: SOUTHFIELD ARTS AND TECH.

District 127.1 @ Walled Lake Central

BLOOMFIELD HILLS vs WEST BLOOMFIELD
NORTH FARMINGTON vs Walled Lake Central

Thoughts and Pick: Looking at this district, it could be a tall order for the three OAA teams that are in this district with Walled Lake Central. Walled Lake Central is at home and home court may matter here. PICK: WALLED LAKE CENTRAL.

District 128.1 @ Warren Cousino

BERKLEY vs Warren Cousino
ROYAL OAK vs Warren Mott

Thoughts and Pick: This is an interesting district when you look at the teams. Berkley and Royal Oak are teams in the Blue but when you look at it you got to give it to Warren Mott. Warren Mott has had a strong season and should continue their road in the district. PICK: WARREN MOTT.

District 139.2 @ Pontiac Notre Dame Prep

AVONDALE vs PONTIAC
Orchard Lake St. Marys vs Pontiac Notre Dame Prep

Thoughts and Pick: This is an interesting district, Avondale and Pontiac has had tough seasons thus far. It could be interesting when those two take on one another. I think Orchard Lake St. Marys with the struggle they have went through could pull it off here. PICK: ORCHARD LAKE ST. MARYS.

District 162.2 @ Farmington

HARRISON vs FARMINGTON
Detroit Redford Union vs Detroit Redford Thurston

Thoughts and Pick: This is not a good district but anything is possible. When in doubt go with the home team. PICK: FARMINGTON.

District 163.2 @ Madison Heights Lamphere

FERNDALE vs Madison Heights Lamphere
HAZEL PARK vs Warren Fitzgerald

It could be an interesting matchup in Macomb County and it looks like it could be an all Macomb County final between Madison Heights Lamphere and Warren Fitzgerald. I like the Spartans to come out of this district. PICK: WARREN FITZGERALD.
