First it was Thomas Kitchener, and now it’s Hank Schemmel.
According to Steve Ball of Bank Hoops, Schemmel will enroll
at Clarkston this upcoming season to play for the Wolves Boys Basketball team.
Schemmel is a 6.7 Power Forward transferred from Maryland,
meaning he will be eligible to play right away this upcoming winter.
Schemmel, whom will be a Senior joins an already stacked
Wolves lineup led by Foster Loyer, Kitchener, CJ Robinson, Taylor Currie,
Tristen Mysen, Kip Wells, and Chase Waslik.
Kitchener a few weeks ago transferred to Clarkston from
Macomb Dakota.
Clarkston is the Defending Class A State Champions and is
right now the odds on favorite to repeat as State Champs this season. Coach Dan
Fife will have a Senior heavy lineup this season with five of them being
transfers.
The Wolves by adding Schemmel will have one of deepest bench
in the State. It is unknown if Schemmel has had any colleges looking at him.
Clarkston has three players in their lineup in Loyer (Michigan State,) Kitchener
(Michigan State,) Currie (Michigan,) and likely Robinson all being Division One
recruits.
Thoughts.
This move just adds to the riches for Clarkston.
I don’t know what to think now with the Wolves, they have a
very solid homegrown system (Fife Camp.) I don’t understand why transfers would
want to come to Clarkston when this team has a very successful homegrown
system.
This move makes the Wolves even More Senior heavy and you
got to wonder if there is any weakness to beat Clarkston this season.
Stay tuned to OAA Now for the latest on this developing
story.
Why not call them out for cheating?
