OAA Recap. Week Eleven:

Written Saturday November 7th at 12:05 AM.

Well there is one OAA team left in the playoffs and that is the Berkley Bears. Berkley shocked Southfield tonight. Anyway here is the recap.

Walled Lake Western 34, Groves 21. We knew that the Falcons were going to have a tough defensive assignment against Walled Lake Western. Groves held their own tonight against a good Warriors team but the size and big play ability of Walled Lake Western was too much for the Falcons in its 34-21 loss. Groves finished the season at 10-1 while the Warriors will host Midland Dow next week in Walled Lake.

Berkley 28, Southfield 20. This was a huge upset considering the schedule that both teams played and what divisions both teams were in with Southfield in the White and Berkley in the Blue. The Bears rushed out to a 21-0 halftime lead and had to overcome a Blue Jays rally in the second half to win the game. This season has been a disappointment for Southfield as they go into the offseason with some questions despite having a lot of young talent coming back and merging with Lathrup. Berkley will move onto the regional finals at Hurley Field next week as they take on high scoring Livonia Franklin whom won a high scoring affair in Jackson tonight and if they win that then this could be the first team in school history to ever make the State Semifinals.

We'll see what happens next week.
