The Eagles lost a player on Wednesday.
Ferndale’s Deondre Bonaparte has transfered from Ferndale to
Ecorse according to a tweet from Endless Motor Sports.
The tweet read, “Big addition for Ecorse Basketball. 2019
guard Deondre Bonaparte has officially transferred in from Ferndale and will
suit up for the Red Raiders next year. Skilled guard will immediately bring perimeter
scoring and playing making ability @Kidddre”
The Eagles played Ecorse on December 16th at Ecorse in
which the Red Raiders won 64-54.
This is a big loss for Ferndale but it’s not a killing loss
for them. The Eagles are still a Junior heavy team and they have some quality
players in Keelan Lucas, Will Scott, Teona McKeithen, and Brian Polozo.
The Eagles right now sit at 4-8 and 3-4 in the Blue. They
will go on a three game road trip starting on Thursday when they go to Royal
Oak. They are in a really tough district in Birmingham that involves powerhouse
Birmingham Detroit Country Day.
It will be interesting to see what happens over at Ferndale
for coach Tom Staten could they be better off without Bonaparte, that will be a
question.
Stay tuned to OAA Now for the latest on this developing
story.
