The Clarkston Wolves have found their new head coach for the Girls Basketball season.
Christine Rogers is the new varsity coach for the Wolves taking over for Tim Wasilk whom is now an assistant boys basketball coach at the high school with Dan Fife.
Rogers is a teacher in the school district as she teaches ninth grade United States History at Clarkston Junior High School.
She also coaches the eighth grade girls basketball team at Clarkston Junior High and is the head coach of the Junior Varsity Softball team. It is not known if she will coach the eighth grade team this fall, although it seems very likely.
Rogers moved to Michigan in 2002 and has been teaching in Clarkston for 13 years.
She will take over a Wolves team that finished 12-8 last season only to lose to Adams in the predistrict. Rogers will not have Erica Davenport as she is now at Marquette but she does have some talent coming back in center Kayla Lucenbach, forward Alyssa Bey, guards Taylor Russell, Meghan Deardorff, Kelsey Hunt, Kristen Page, and Kailan Mehta. Clarkston also has Molly Nicholson whom is expected to make the jump up to Varsity.
The Wolves will play in the Red this season with Lathrup, Harrison, Adams, Stoney Creek, and Oxford. They will open the season on December 1st at Avondale.
