2. Southfield Arts and Tech (12-2): Warriors have been playing good basketball lately.

3. Troy (10-3): Colts have been riding on the edge lately.

4. Seaholm (9-3): Matt Fricke has been the glue to the Maples success.

5. North Farmington (10-5): Raiders have been known for the dramatics lately.

6. West Bloomfield (6-7): Lakers brutal schedule should have them ready for the postseason.

7. Oak Park (6-8): Knights battled back but wasn't enough against Kalamazoo Central last Saturday.

8. Farmington (7-7): Robert Davis has been a huge addition for the Falcons.

9. Oxford (8-6): Wildcats going through peaks and valleys right now.

10. Ferndale (6-8): Eagles working toward March as Coach Juan Rickman says.

11. Groves (7-8): February hasn’t been a great start for the Falcons.

12. Lake Orion (4-9): Dragons are going through a tough schedule and a bunch of injuries doesn’t help.

13. Troy Athens (11-4): Red Hawks have won three straight which includes beating Seaholm.

14. Berkley (8-4): Bears starting to put things together lately.

15. Adams (4-10): Highlanders have been battling tough despite their record.

16. Pontiac (5-6): Phoenix still in good shape despite tough overtime loss on Friday night.

17. Bloomfield Hills (5-10): The good news for the Blackhawks was that they snapped the losing streak with the upset of North Farmington. The bad news was that they only scored 23 points against Clarkston.

18. Stoney Creek (6-8): Cougars have been competitive lately.

19. Rochester (2-11): 30 point blowout of Royal Oak has me impressed, Falcons.

20. Royal Oak (4-11): It’s getting harder to describe the Ravens.

21. Avondale (0-12): It’s getting harder to describe the Yellow Jackets.

Girls Top 21

1. West Bloomfield (11-3): If the Lakers win these next two games then the league race is OVER.

2. Clarkston (11-3): Wolves starting to peak at the right time.

3. North Farmington (10-5): Raiders starting to find their grove a little bit.

4. Troy (10-4): Colts finding their grove a little bit.

5. Southfield Arts and Tech (9-7): Jalyn Austin has been a pleasant surprise for the Warriors.

6. Adams (9-6): Highlanders have had their peaks and valleys thus far. Hard team to figure out.

7. Royal Oak (8-7): Like I said before Sarah Soraghan has been the key for the Ravens.

8. Groves (7-7): Hmm seems Coach Jessica Wiesler has something going in Beverly Hills.

9. Rochester (9-5): Falcons control their destiny right now in the Blue.

10. Avondale (9-5): Ah what happened against Adams, Yellow Jackets???

11. Berkley (10-4): Bears missed a golden opportunity to tie for the league on Thursday.

12. Lake Orion (6-9): Dragons won two of three which isn’t bad.

13. Troy Athens (11-4): Red Hawks have lost four of five since a 10-0 start.

14. Oak Park (9-6): Knights have been up and down lately.

15. Stoney Creek (4-10): Cougars have lost six of seven which isn’t good.

16. Bloomfield Hills (6-9): Blackhawks have been a hard team to figure out.

17. Oxford (5-9): Wildcats are 1-7 since the calendar changed to 2020.

18. Farmington (3-10): Falcons haven’t played a ton of games lately.

19. Seaholm (5-11): Maples have lost seven straight which is not a good omen.

20. Ferndale (4-8): Eagles have been an odd team to figure out.

21. Pontiac (0-12): It’s been a rough year for the Phoenix.

Top Games (Boys)- Feb 10 thru Feb 14.

Lake Orion at Seaholm (Friday): The Dragons are injury riddled right now and they should be well tested after having played Flint Carman Ainsworth on that Tuesday. The Maples have something to prove and playing a Red opponent will provide just that. Lake Orion though is still very dangerous playing with nothing to lose.

Detroit Edison at Clarkston (Tuesday): This shapes up to be a very interesting matchup between the Wolves and Pioneers. Detroit Edison put up 101 against West Bloomfield on Friday but Clarkston is no slouch. Both teams have star players which makes things interesting.

Clarkston at Oak Park (Thursday): This is a rematch of a 63-54 Wolves win over the Knights on January 10th. I don’t know how Oak Park will matchup with Matt Nicholson or Fletcher Loyer though in this game. The Knights are going to need to play at their best to even stay close with Clarkston.

Oxford at Pontiac Notre Dame Prep (Tuesday): The Wildcats have been an up and down team lately and they will play another team that has been up and down in Pontiac Notre Dame Prep. The Irish have been very good at home so it will be a tough challenge for Oxford.

Adams at Oxford (Friday): Could this be a district preview??? It’s possible when the Highlanders and the Wildcats meet. Oxford beat Adams 46-25 on January 10th and the Highlanders are well improved since then. The coaching matchup is also interesting between Steve Laidlaw and Jaret Thomas along with the star matchup between Peyton Prieskorn and Trey Townsend.

Groves at Stoney Creek (Thursday): This is a rematch of a January 10th contest where the Falcons won 53-44 over the Cougars. Groves has been an interesting road team while Stoney Creek has been an interesting home team. Something has to give in this matchup.

Pontiac at Berkley (Monday): This is a makeup of a January 24th game where the game was postponed due to ice. Both of these teams are trying to catch Seaholm in the Blue. The Bears have started to put things back together while the Phoenix is coming off a tough loss to the Maples. It will be an interesting game to say the least.

Farmington at Troy (Thursday): Both of these teams are in the midst of the White league race with Southfield Arts and Tech. Farmington has one league loss while Troy and Southfield Arts and Tech has two league losses. The Falcons beat the Colts 53-45 on January 10th and this shapes up to be another great guard matchup between Jaden Akins and Brody Parker.

North Farmington at West Bloomfield (Thursday): This is a rematch of January 10th matchup where the Raiders beat the Lakers 55-41. Both of these teams have been up and down recently which makes this to be an interesting game

Seaholm at Milford (Tuesday): The Maples have been rolling until their 48-42 loss to Troy Athens last week but a huge 53-51 overtime win over Pontiac was huge for the team’s confidence. Milford has been up and down but they have been gaining confidence. The Mavericks and Seaholm will be an interesting matchup to say the least especially being in Milford.

Royal Oak at Berkley (Thursday): Anytime a rivalry game has their fair share of motivations. The Bears survived the Ravens 66-59 in overtime on January 10th. Thursday’s game looks to be no different and Berkley is in the thick of a league race right now.

Farmington at Detroit Edison (Monday): This shapes up to be a tough matchup for the Falcons against a good Pioneers squad. Detroit Edison put up 101 on West Bloomfield on Friday. Farmington has been living on the edge lately though.

Top Games (Girls)- Feb 10 thru Feb 14.

Lake Orion at North Farmington (Friday): The Raiders beat the Dragons 29-24 on January 9th but Lake Orion was without two players in that game. North Farmington has been rolling as of late while the Dragons are starting to put things together. This will be an interesting matchup to say the least.

West Bloomfield at Clarkston (Friday): This is a rematch of a 73-47 Lakers win on January 9th. Clarkston is a much different team now than they were. West Bloomfield could be playing for a league title in that game. The Wolves being on their home floor will pose problems for the Lakers to say the least.

West Bloomfield at Southfield Arts and Tech (Tuesday): Who would had ever thought that it is the Lakers that are leading the Red and not the Warriors? West Bloomfield beat Southfield Arts and Tech 71-63 on January 6th. The Warriors are coming off a 58-50 loss to Clarkston last week so it will be interesting to see how they respond. Meanwhile the Lakers are continuing to roll this week.

Rochester at Oak Park (Tuesday): If the Falcons can win this game then they basically would have locked up the Blue. The Knights played Rochester tough on January 6th with Oak Park falling 45-32. The Knights are a different team and it’s in Knight Valley on a small gym. The Falcons better be careful in this game.

Bloomfield Hills at Stoney Creek (Tuesday): This is a rematch of a Cougars 45-40 overtime victory over the Blackhawks on January 6th. Both of these teams have had their fair share of up and downs this season but a victory here will help one of these teams fix some things.

Stoney Creek at Royal Oak (Friday): This is an interesting matchup of two defensive first teams in the Ravens and Cougars. Royal Oak won 25-19 over Stoney Creek on January 9th. It will be an interesting guard matchup between Sarah Soraghan and Lily DiPani. It will be interesting who that key x factor will be in this game.

Troy at Avondale (Friday): The Colts have been red hot, winners of six straight games. The Yellow Jackets you got to wonder after what happened to them against Adams. Avondale beat Troy 65-44 on January 9th. If the Colts can get to the Yellow Jackets depth then it would be very interesting.

North Farmington at Troy (Tuesday): Both the Colts and Raiders are red hot right now in the White. It will be interesting how North Farmington matches up against Kendall Zeiter now that she’s back in the fold. The Raiders beat the Colts 47-40 on January 6th. This shapes up to be an interesting contest.

Royal Oak at Groves (Tuesday): This a rematch of a January 6th contest where the Falcons beat the Ravens 46-36. The question for Royal Oak will be is how they will guard Ellie Ruprich. It will be a very interesting matchup between these two teams.

Berkley at Seaholm (Tuesday): We don’t know where the Bears mindset is at after Berkley lost 33-31 to Rochester. The Bears will need Rochester to lose and they win out if they want at least a share of the league title. The Maples have lost seven straight games which is not good. Berkley beat Seaholm 42-33 on January 6th. It will be interesting how the Bears play at a big gym though.

Seaholm at Farmington (Friday): This is a rematch of a 38-35 Maples win over the Falcons on January 9th. Both of these teams have been on rough streaks. Seaholm has lost seven straight while Farmington has lost six of seven. It will be very interesting to say the least.
