The Rochester Falcons will have a new Girls Basketball coach this winter as Jeff Haney has decided to step down coaching the program as confirmed by a very accurate source.
Haney led the Falcons to a 12-8 record which included a 11-1 record in the Blue last season. Rochester shared the Blue with Berkley last season.
The Falcons fell to Utica in the district semifinals in Haney's return to the bench.
Haney has led Rochester on multiple occasions coaching different levels from Girls Basketball and Boys Basketball along with Girls Golf where he won three State Championships and a runner up as well.
Haney has a 144-70 with three district and two regional championships as the coach of the Falcons.
Thoughts.
I feel really bad for the Rochester ladies that they will be going through this again. This will be the Falcons fourth coach in four seasons.
Rochester will be back in the Blue this coming season and compete with the likes of Berkley, Farmington, Ferndale, Oak Park, Seaholm, and Pontiac.
Until there is stability within the program, this program could very well struggle especially with their city rivals Stoney Creek and Adams both having stabilized programs.
It will be very interesting to see who takes over the Falcons Girls Basketball program.
Stay tuned to OAA Now for the latest on this developing story.
Covering all 23 OAA teams with insight and thoughts on each school from Northern Oakland County, Southern Oakland County, and one from Wayne County.

About Me
- Saginaw Bay
- I have highest function of autism (Asperger Syndrome.) I'm a huge Dallas Stars fan. I like to play and watch football, especially when the Dragons play on Friday nights. I am a 2006 alum and used to play football for the Dragons. I ran track, I ran the 100, 200, 400 meter dashes along with shot-put and discus. During my time in Orion I was a manager for Junior Varsity Boys Basketball team. I'm the volleyball, girls basketball, and football announcer for the team and do the book on the road for girls basketball. I do the clock for volleyball in the fall along with girls basketball in the winter and announce some boys basketball games as well. In the spring I coach shot-put at Scripps Middle School, in my fifth season coaching. I run the shot-put for high school meets. I played Special Olympics Basketball, I've won three gold medals for them. I host "Between Taorminas" which is on ONTV along with a podcast called "OAA Now". In other various things outside of Lake Orion, I love to jet ski over Saginaw Bay. Saginaw Bay is basically my life. I'm a trained weather spotter for the National Weather Service for Oakland and Huron counties.
