West Bloomfield making more changes. This time it's Girls Basketball.

Written Saturday August 14th at 11:30 AM

West Bloomfield basketball has gone through a ton of changes.

Last week it was the boys basketball program with Coach Jeremy Denha leaving for Utica Ford II and now it's the girls basketball program who is making coaching changes.

Lakers coach Bert Mosley has stepped down from coaching the program confirmed by sources.

Mosley coached the Lakers for three years has turned this program into a powerhouse. He went to the regional semifinals in 2019-2020 falling to Hartland at Walled Lake Western.

West Bloomfield won the Red after going unbeaten in league play but they couldn't play in the postseason because of COVID-19 protocols last season.

Whomever coaches the Lakers will have a very good team coming back with the Davis sisters (Summer and Indya,) along with the Hendrix sisters (Kendall and Sydney,) and Myonna Hooper all coming back.

Program strength is a big concern going forward. They have the talent for three years but later on it could be rough sailing for them. West Bloomfield hosts their very tough district that has Birmingham Marian, North Farmington, Groves, and Seaholm. The Lakers are also in the Red with Clarkston, Troy, Stoney Creek, Southfield Arts and Tech, and Groves.

There are a ton of questions surrounding this program going forward.

It will be very interesting to see who West Bloomfield hires as their next coach to take over the program.

Stay tuned to OAA Now for the latest on this developing story.
