BIG WIN: West Bloomfield: The Lakers went into Wayne State and won a defensive struggle 16-8 over Warren De LaSalle. West Bloomfield’s defense was legit again besides the Lake Orion game they have allowed only 60 points. The Lakers will have a ton of confidence heading into the playoffs.

TOUGH LOSS: Stoney Creek: The Cougars will be hoping they have enough playoff points after losing 21-14 to Adams on Friday night. Stoney Creek and the Highlanders went neck and neck but it was a 56 yard reception from Carter Farris to Anthony Patritto was the difference. It will be interesting to see what happens with the Cougars playoff hopes.

WHAT HAPPENED: Groves: What happened to the Falcons defense on Friday night in Brownstown Township??? The Warriors put up 49 points which is the most against Groves this season in a shocking 49-28 victory to finish the season at 9-0. The Falcons will likely be on the road for the postseason.

TEAM THAT NEED A HUG: Southfield Arts and Tech: The Warriors will miss the playoffs for a third straight season after losing 31-24 to River Rouge on Friday night. The Panthers led 24-3 at one point but Southfield Arts and Tech came back and made it a game but too mistakes doomed them as the Warriors couldn't overcome River Rouge thus Southfield Arts and Tech is out for the third straight year.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME: Clarkston: It was an off year for the Wolves but I never would had thought that the Clarkston defense allowed 64 to Oak Park, 55 to Lake Orion, and now 49 to Detroit Cass Tech in a 49-14 blowout loss to the Technicians. The Wolves will have a lot of soul searching this offseason after missing the playoffs for the first time in 16 years.

TEAM THAT ME SHAKE MY HEAD: Ferndale: The Eagles will miss the postseason after shockingly being blown out 40-0 by Birmingham Detroit Country Day on Friday night. It will be an interesting offseason for sure for Ferndale but they should be back next season.
