The Falcons will get an unexpected bye week to heal up.
Groves (7-2) was supposed to play Warren DeLaSalle on Friday night in the Division Two pre-district playoffs at Beverly Hills but was awarded the win because of forfeit.
The reason for the Pilots forfeiting was because there was an alleged hazing incident that school officials became aware of this week and that the incident had deeper roots than originally thought according to the Warren DeLaSalle Press release and as confirmed in the local media.
Warren DeLaSalle officials made the call to cancel their season and their playoff game on Thursday morning.
The Falcons will either meet Seaholm or Sterling Heights in Beverly Hills next week for the district crown.
