Hurdle Out at Bloomfield Hills.

Written Wednesday June 20th at 11:00 AM

There will be a job opening posted for the Bloomfield Hills Volleyball program.

According to Drew Ellis of MIPrepZone in a tweet on Twitter Blackhawks coach Bob Hurdle has stepped down coaching the team. The search for a new coach has already started.

Hurdle was the first ever volleyball coach for Bloomfield Hills. He was at Andover before both they and Lahser merged to become Bloomfield Hills in 2014.

Bloomfield Hills will have plenty of talent coming back led by Alexa Rousseau along with Brooke Bosart, Avlia Slazinski, Annie Hoag, Noelle Siewek, Kaitlyn Keele, Lily Formanek, and Maggie Walters.

The Blackhawks compete in the very difficult Red with Lake Orion, Clarkston, Oxford, Troy, Adams, and Stoney Creek. They are in an interesting district that features West Bloomfield, Troy, Troy Athens, Avondale, and Waterford Mott but they do host.

Thoughts.

I was surprised by Hurdle stepping down from Bloomfield Hills especially late in the game. I'm going to be curious how this will work out and how quick the transition will be but whomever the new coach will be should have a very good team moving forward.

Stay tuned to OAA Now for the latest on this developing story.
