Well there is now another coaching vacancy in Girls Basketball in the OAA and that's at Rochester Adams.
Jackie Steinacker has stepped down from coaching at Adams after leading the Highlanders to their first district title since 2001.
Steinacker took over for Shay Lewis whom stepped down last season after she was named the Director of Operations for Women's Basketball at Oakland University.
Adams finished the season at 8-15 and finished last in the Red. The Highlanders lost 58-47 to Fenton in the regional semifinal this season.
Adams loses Maggie Rogers, Hannah Simard, and Ryian Owusu to graduation but they have Grace Van Pelt and MaKayla Smith returning next season.
Thoughts.
I was surprised that Steinacker spent only one season at Adams as the head coach. She led her team to their first crown since 2001 and then leaves, it's very shocking to say the least.
It will be interesting whom coaches the Highlanders next season but odds are Jeff Castonia and Brad Kuschman are strong candidates but we'll see what happens.
Stay tuned to OAA Now for the latest on this developing story.
