Heard transfers to West Bloomfield.

Written Monday March 13th at 11:00 AM

The West Bloomfield Lakers have added yet another wide receiver to the fold.

First it was AJ Abbott from Northville, then it was Bryce Thompson from Birmingham Brother Rice.

Now it's Collin Heard from Groves according to The D-Zone's Jeff Corrion. He transferred to West Bloomfield a few weeks ago.

Heard was suppose to be Groves best player coming back this season. He was one of the main catalysts that led the Falcons to the Division Two State Semifinals last season.

Heard will join a Lakers team this season along with quarterback Bryce Veasley, receivers Taj Mustaffa, Abbott, Thompson, Christian Fitzpatrick, kicker Nick O'Shea, and tight end James Faulkner. Now line play maybe a major concern for coach Ron Bellamy's team but they have offensive lineman Maxwell Green and Javon Foster.

Heard also plays defense in the secondary. He will have Green playing up front on the defensive line along with linebacker Sharmer Dennis.

The Lakers are in the tough Red with teams like Orion, Clarkston, Oxford, Adams, and Southfield Arts and Tech.

Thoughts.

I'm not a huge fan of transfers but Heard's decision to leave Groves. It will be hard for Falcons fans to take because of the run they had last season. West Bloomfield gets another athlete in Heard but it doesn't address their major concern which will be up front this season.

We'll see what happens, stay tuned to OAA Now for the latest updates on this developing story.
