BIG WIN: Groves: The schedule has sort of helped the Falcons especially getting yet another huge win, this time over the Warriors of Southfield Arts and Tech 13-7. Groves still has a tough schedule but now they have a great shot at making the playoffs this season.

TOUGH LOSS: Avondale: The Yellow Jackets have been competitive in 2016 but for them sitting at 0-3 is inexcusable. Avondale lost 33-15 to Ferndale last week. The Yellow Jackets must find a way to regroup especially with an improved Rochester team coming to Auburn Hills next week.

TEAM THAT NEEDS A HUG: Troy: I heard the Colts got new uniforms but they didn’t look a sharp or how they played against Bloomfield Hills in a 27-10 loss. Troy sits at 1-2 on the season must find a way to get better fast with Royal Oak on the horizon next week.

WHAT HAPPENED: Troy Athens: We have heard all the talk about the Red Hawks but looking at this team at 1-2 is shocking. They barely beat North Farmington 14-7 and got crushed by both Stoney Creek 35-7 and Warren Mott 28-7. Not to mention they haven’t played Orion, Clarkston, Oxford, Southfield, or West Bloomfield yet. Oh dear lord this won’t be an easy stretch by any means for Troy Athens.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME: Hazel Park AGAIN? Well for the third straight week the Vikings fell short but this time in the hands of Berkley 44-13. The Bears had their way with Hazel Park in this game, it was a blowout from the start. The Vikings play Pontiac next.
