This is Anthony Taormina's projected football picks and thoughts heading into the season. He will have a thought on each team.

X Playoff Teams.

Blue:

X  Berkley  6-0, 7-2
X Rochester 5-1, 5-4
X Hazel Park  4-2  6-3
X Royal Oak 4-2 5-4
Avondale 3-3 4-5
Bloomfield Hills 3-3, 4-5
Pontiac 1-5, 3-6
Troy 1-5, 1-8
Ferndale 0-6, 1-8

Thoughts:

Berkley: "returns a lot from a team that went to the regional final."

Rochester: "returns a lot of experience and also playing in the White for so many years will help them as well."

Hazel Park: "has a lot of speed and has increased it's depth."

Royal Oak: "is solid, building a culture, just another step in the process."

Avondale: "is in a transition era under coach Ed Couturier."

Bloomfield Hills: "should not be in this division."

Pontiac: "like Avondale is trying to build a program under coach John Thompson."

Troy: "is finally in a division where they can compete in."

Ferndale: "lowest enrollment, very difficult to compete against the bigger schools."

White:

X Oak Park 6-0, 6-3
X Harrison 5-1, 7-2
X Adams 4-2, 6-3
Groves 3-3, 3-6
Seaholm 2-4, 3-6
Farmington 1-5, 1-8
North Farmington 0-6, 2-7

Thoughts:

Oak Park: "very talented quarterback on a very talented team."

Harrison:  "very consistent under coach John Herrington."

Adams: "returns a strong senior class but can they return to who they are. Easiest opportunity to make playoffs"

Groves: "very talented but schedule is brutal"

Seaholm: "is stuck in a very tough spot."

Farmington: "They have no chance until Harrison closes."

North Farmington: "same as Farmington."

Red:

X Southfield Arts and Technology 6-0, 8-1
X Clarkston 5-1, 8-1
X West Bloomfield 4-2, 6-3
X Orion 3-3, 6-3
X Troy Athens 2-4, 5-4
Oxford 1-5, 3-6
Stoney Creek 0-6, 2-7

Thoughts:

Southfield Arts and Tech: "I despise them being in the Red, don't make sense why they are in the Red when their geographic rivals are in the White but they are very talented."

Clarkston "consistent on all three levels."

West Bloomfield: "lost a lot of talent but they are a State power and will be for a while."

Orion: return of Orion Tough, regaining their identity. it will surprise some people."

Troy Athens: "veteran offense but their line is key."

Oxford: "always tough (under coach Bud Rowley.)"

Stoney Creek: "blue collar, hard working team under a legendary coach" (Bob Lantzy.)

About Me

My photo
I have highest function of autism (Asperger Syndrome.) I'm a huge Dallas Stars fan. I like to play and watch football, especially when the Dragons play on Friday nights. I am a 2006 alum and used to play football for the Dragons. I ran track, I ran the 100, 200, 400 meter dashes along with shot-put and discus. During my time in Orion I was a manager for Junior Varsity Boys Basketball team. I'm the volleyball, girls basketball, and football announcer for the team and do the book on the road for girls basketball. I do the clock for volleyball in the fall along with girls basketball in the winter and announce some boys basketball games as well. In the spring I coach shot-put at Scripps Middle School, in my fifth season coaching. I run the shot-put for high school meets. I played Special Olympics Basketball, I've won three gold medals for them. I host "Between Taorminas" which is on ONTV along with a podcast called "OAA Now". In other various things outside of Lake Orion, I love to jet ski over Saginaw Bay. Saginaw Bay is basically my life. I'm a trained weather spotter for the National Weather Service for Oakland and Huron counties.
