Falcon likely out for the Season.

Written Sunday August 23rd at 7:25 PM

The Southfield Blue Jays road to Ford Field just got harder with a monstrous loss.

Running back and Michigan recruit Matt Falcon is likely out for the season with a right knee injury according to State Champs and Detroit Free Press.

According to coach Tim Conley the injury they thought was a sprained ankle but it ended up being much worse. It happened during a blocking play on Thursday in it's scrimmage with Walled Lake Western.

The loss of Falcon means that Brendan Brown a transfer from Farmington Hills Harrison will probably be the starting running back heading into week one against Detroit Cass Tech at Wayne State. Also the loss of Falcon will put more pressure on freshman quarterback Sam Johnson III as he goes up against a veteran Technicians defense.

Falcon a senior this season was a force in his three years playing at Southfield, going over 4,000 yards and over 10 touchdowns a season. He only played six games in 2014 but went over 1,100 yards and took the Blue Jays to the State semifinals last season before falling to Warren De LaSalle.

Southfield also has to play in the White with Oak Park, Adams, Harrison, and Farmington. Seaholm and North Farmington are also better teams as well.

Injuries are part of the game and it's next one up.

We'll keep an eye on the situation surrounding Falcon and the Blue Jays on OAA Now.
