Athens Soccer back in State Semifinals.

The ride for the Troy Athens Girls Soccer team has been epic especially going through arch rival Troy and most of Macomb County.

The Red Hawks's big wins this season included knocking off Stoney Creek during the regular season, which led to the Red crown and was badly outplayed but stunned Utica Eisenhower 2-0 in the regional finals on Friday winning their first regional crown in 15 years.

Athens is now in the State Semifinals as they will take on Grand Blanc at Rochester Wednesday at 5 PM.

Grand Blanc beat Stoney Creek in the regional final on penalty kicks in the regional final at Novi, so this match-up will be an interesting one between the Bobcats and Red Hawks.

We'll see what happens.
